I think Dillon Thieneman is a gift at 25.

I hope some of the good edge rushers are still there at 57.

Absolutely, he shouldn't have been there.

According to over the cap the bears freed up 10+million in cap space by restructuring Jonah Jackson and Cole Kmet... On draft night? Trades incoming tomorrow?

Nah, they just didn't have enough space to sign the draft class or get through the season.

$10m is arguably still light to get through season with. But they could opt to free up some more later on, like end of camp or even within first few weeks of season.

The dream tomorrow is Jacob Rodriguez at #57, super unlikely, but I'd be thrilled. I do wonder how far McDonald slides though and at what point do you go and grab him?

No notes. The BPA was also at a need position, and sometimes the easiest call is indeed the right call.

Having that comp 3rd for Cunningham would have been great for tomorrow, because a trade up for someone like Zion Young would be a smart play.

Players who will almost certainly be gone before 25.

Fernando Mendoza, Jeremiyah Love, Arvell Reese, David Bailey, Francis Mauigoa, Sonny Styles, Rueben Bain, Caleb Downs, Spencer Fano, Monroe Freeling, Jordan Tyson, Carnell Tate, Makai Lemon, Mansoor Delane, Kenyon Sadiq, Vega Ioane, Dillon Thieneman

My top options at 25 (mostly in order)

1. Ahkeem Mesidor

2. Emmanuel McNeil-Warren

3. Malachi Lawrence

4. Keldric Faulk

5. Max Iheanachor

6. Kayden McDonald

7. Chris Johnson

8. Colton Hood

9. Peter Woods

10. TJ Parker

11. Christen Miller

12. Caleb Lomu

13. Treydan Stukes

The only guy of my "almost certainly " that was left. Didn't expect that. I actually liked McNeil-Warren better, but consensus had Thieneman as a top 15 ish player.

I also wonder if Burnes will be shopped by the Giants after loading up on edge in consecutive drafts.

There's still some really good, plug and play talent out there, but I don't know if many of those names will fall to 57. I'm thinking be aggressive and move up to get their guy, and then take BPA at 60. I just don't want them to get stuck with multiple developmental players with the holes they have while entering win-now mode.

I don't have that value calculator, but what does it cost to move up from 57 to like 45 if McDonald, Young or Rodriguez is there? Maybe a 4th?

I could have sworn there was talk of Thieneman on this site early in the draft process but the search function shows the first mention was 24 hours ago by Raw. Was he just the first person to spell his name correctly? What is going to be the Chicago style misspelling/mispronunciation of this guys name?

I'm super annoyed that Warren inserts himself into this.

The nfl network cut to the draft room just as Warren was hugging it out with Poles, then straightened his tie while making sure his face was clear to camera.

i too was irrationally annoyed by his presence

No one expected him to be there at #25. That's why I only mentioned EMW and I wasn't even 100% he'd be there.

$31 to the first Score caller who calls him Tiananmen.

Maybe it was something I read on Brett’s site or the athletic. But early on somebody was talking about warming to taking this guy in the first but then as time went by they were saying he may not be available at 25. I think a lot of amateur mocks had him going earlier but as a safety, the likelihood was always going to be he may drop more than rise. He probably went right where he should have. Again, he’s a safety. Most nfl front offices don’t prioritize the position when the interior and exterior of the D line is more important/impactful.

Trade up with 57. Trade back with 60.

Kevin Warren is an annoying blowhard who seems to be really bad at his job, but I also think he had some part to play in the Bears firing the previous dullard and hiring Ben Johnson so I can't entirely hate him.

San Francisco is looking to trade pick #33.

Personally not interested in paying that price. If any of the trio i mentioned above are there at 40-45, I'm game, but not all the way to #33.
