At this point, I’m doubtful.  He hasn’t done anything to make me think he’s capable of 4 good quarters.  I’m thinking we can expect to see it after an offseason but the rest of this season we will have to win with a hot/cold QB.  Bears have shown they can do that though.

This is what Caleb can give us this year.  And yeah, some of it isn’t his fault but the point is, what we have seen so far is likely what we will get the rest of the way.

Ok if not a complete game from him, can Caleb please get started BEFORE the second half, then?

The final play of the game is getting a lot of attention, which makes sense, but I’m kind of surprised that Ben Johnson’s handling of the entire sequence isn’t being questioned more. They let about 1:30 come off the clock before the 4th down play, and showed almost no urgency during that final set of downs. I get, and support, leaving Green Bay as little clock to respond if we score, but boy howdy it heavily restricted what they could do there, down to maybe ruling out a run on 4th and 1. (You could run, but you have to call a TO and then you’re down to ~20ish seconds to get 20 or so yards and a TD). I just thought overall it was a weirdly run drive once we crossed into Green Bag territory.

I have no problem with letting time run. A lot of people panic and don’t realize just how much time that is to work with. Time was on their side, but they needed to bleed clock too

Yep, and Johnson was pretty firm that the clock management was exactly what they intended to do, and that the only problem was the execution on that 3rd and 4th down play there at the end.

Bears just aren’t ready to flip the script on these guys yet.  That same Packers gameplan is working.  Run to set up the pass. Creative blitzes for pressure.

When will that ever happen though? The packers have had 5 losing seasons total since 92 and that streak doesn’t look like it’ll end anytime soon.

They had the momentum playing up tempo and the clock management stalled their drive in my opinion. Not a bad decision but that’s the drawback.

Cleveland's record is terrible, but we know their defense is solid and we've seen Sanders put up big passing numbers (and we have no pass rush and ass secondary right now).

Might be closer than we'd like

I believe I read that Pollard was a "sit 'em" on Sunday and gashed the Cleveland defense for 25/161/2, so maybe the Bears line can create some ground attack after all. Early weather report is frigid once again on Sunday.

I think you have to take every team seriously, but Cleveland had to play catchup against the worst team in the league on Sunday.

Sanders sure had the type of game to give me pause on my expectations for Sunday. The receivers looked energized, theyre gonna want to build off that momentum. This will be a big game/test for that offense. Caleb needs to be dialed in from the first snap to the last.

Ben seems quite frustrated with Kyler’s health. He knows his loss contributed to the team’s loss Sunday. Between Jaylon, Dayo, and Kyler, the Bears have had an awful lot of high-priced players hurt. I know it’s football, but it’s never good to have $50 mil+ on the sidelines for an awful lot of games.

A better first half, and we are probably driving down for the win instead of driving down the field to try to get a tying touchdown.  We need a pass rush and a more consistent pass game.  I’m thinking next year, maybe at home in a couple weeks we get ‘em.  It’s not about the Packers getting worse it’s about the Bears getting better.

Ben’s new goal for Caleb in 2026 should a be 70% on target rate.

Add the receivers being in the correct place, it's not all on Caleb.

Did you actually hear Ben talk, or just read it?  Because he didn't sound THAT bothered.  Didn't strike me as more bothered than any other injury honestly.

The bears as a team are dead last in bad throws at 22.8%, next worse is Atlanta at 20.5%. No other teams are separated by 1% besides the Bears. It has to get better regardless of drops.

Completely agree, think that'll improve quite a bit next season, once Caleb gets the CP into the mid to high 60's , the numbers are going to explode.

The Loveland drop took 3 off the board and possibly more for all we know. Because the next play was a false start, knocking them out field goal range.

agreed. get used to not being the NFLs Princess anymore GB

They’re having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that Rodgers is no longer their quarterback and their opponents are no longer on the ass end of every questionable call/no call. The irony is amazing and imagine being such a sore winner that you’re still bitching about calls in a game you won. Such an entitled, obnoxious fanbase. Cardinals fans are way better.

They still are the “princess.”  Because they have the fanbase.  It’s not all about Rodgers.  And LaFleur has a strategy here.  Put the holding into the officials’ minds so they call it more.  I suggest BJ start doing the same.  The whining has a purpose.

The fans are strategically whining? Or they’re whining because Lafleur was publicly vocal? I don’t begrudge Lafleur I Begrudge a whiney, entitled fanbase who have probably been netted 10+ wins during the Rodgers era from one sided officiating.

Bears and Cowboys have large fanbases and don’t get the ref treatment. Chiefs fanbase is a recent phenomenon too, same with Brady and the Pats. It’s about players more than fans.

Slightly better?

They are equally horrible fanbases.

Green Bay fans who actually live in the northern half of the state are decent people. The ones who live within an hour drive north or south of the cheddar curtain are just obnoxious

That’s been my experience too. If they were anywhere near as successful as the patriots of chiefs these obnoxious f cks would be appropriately hated by all 31 fanbases, which is for the better.
