One more garbage opponent left to pad the win column before the real opponents show up. Chicago is a 3.5 point home favorite against the lowly giants, that have become frisky with Dart at qb but they’ve lost 3 in a row and have been outscored by 52. The Bears are 5-3 but have been outscored by a dozen. NY is probably going to score a bunch. Caleb & Co has to score a bunch+

A mere 3.5 point favorite against an unimpressive Giants team shows that the oddsmakers aren't over the moon about the Bears.

This is another game that the Bears aren't allowed to lose, not at home, not when they need to stack wins. We shall see if they oblige.

Trade deadline day, will the Bears get a pass rusher? I think I'd rather them not heavily invest in this year's team, but it would be exciting I suppose.

They need to get a couple of warm bodies on the roster, whether that comes from a small time deal or from signing people off practice squads, we shall see

I highly doubt we see them deal two firsts for Maxx Crosby or whatever, but also with Poles you never know. He does seem to love big splash deals near the deadline.

The Giants run d is worse than the Bengals.

Maybe a letdown spot for the Bears though

Bears 27- Giants 23

Over the past 4 weeks the giants have averaged 27.5 PPG against better defenses than Chicago will put out there. I’d say 23 points would be a mild upset.

I really don’t want to see Poles trade picks for a middling veteran. His best trade of that ilk to date doesn’t look all that great now. I’m hoping Johnson has a positive influence in future drafts and maybe eventually takes over decision making authority, or at least gets a bigger say as time goes on.

How can you play opposite Myles horsefeathers Garrett and not get a sack?????

From what I read he didn't play much on defense, was used primarily as a special teams player.  Doesn't really matter they need bodies on defense.

If they can win this one I'm feeling pretty good the Bears can get 9 wins.

I don't think that gets them a playoff spot in the NFC, though.

For me, the playoff teams are going to be Detroit, the Rams, Philly, Tampa and Seattle for sure, and two of GB/Min/SF/Chi/Car, most likely GB and SF.

Battle of some bad defenses, kind of like last week.  Imagine if we could just get a little more pressure on the QB.  It would change everything.

I believe the Bears will end being one of those teams that playoff bubble teams don't want to play this year.  They're going to score a horsefeathers ton of points on you and they'll also give up a horsefeathers ton points.  Because they will score a lot it'll put pressure on those playoff bubble teams to maintain pace.  The Bears will burst someone' playoff bubble.  Right now I'm thinking it'll be one of the Packers or Niners in weeks 16 and 17.

If they can beat one of them, not only will it burst that teams bubble, but it might put the Bears in the playoffs.

I can work with that.

Bears trade for Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, sending a 6th and getting a 7th in return as well.

Former 1st round pick, seems like he hasn't done much. There's the warm body move we expected.

Blech- I hate moves that are made to make a move. Maybe this guy was just a bad scheme fit in Cleveland, but if he’s traded with a low pick for a slightly higher low pick, I don’t know how that benefits the team trading for him

Would playoffs be nice? Sure. But more important is laying down the groundwork for having prolonged success for Johnson-Williams. If they finish the season reasonably competitive against the best teams in the league, avoid having the types of demoralizing collapses by recent Bears teams, and Williams looks better and better by the end of the season, I'll be happy.

I mean, I'll likely be screaming my head off at the TV, but the rational part of me would be happy.

Take out the trash against the trash teams left on the schedule, and put up a fight against the good ones. Anything from 8-9 to 10-7 is reasonable and would be a win, IMO.

Props to the Jets for blowing it up. 2 years ago they looked like they had a solid core to build around but if you dont have a QB you dont have horsefeathers. Feels like most teams would have held onto Gardner, iffy on Williams.

And they almost certainly won't replace Sauce's production or value.

They have many, many holes and Aaron Glenn will get at least 3-4 seasons to turn it around there.

Revenge against Minnesota would feel oh so good...

I don't know if people heard the news but Kraft tore his ACL, out for the year.  He was looking like a stud TE option for Jordan Love.  Packers are good.  I don't know that they are great though.  It's possible for the Bears to take a victory or two here.  Probable?  I won't go that far.
