Why does Giddey have to be the highlight of this team so far? I have a hard time forgetting his past to root for him.

He faced no criminal charges and NBA close their investigation. Right now, I have no problem enjoying Giddey's play.

Now if anything changes and there is proof that Giddey is a scumbag, then I'd be very vocal about getting him off the Bulls. Until then, he's innocent until proven guilty.

he got off, that's all innocent until proven guilty means. it doesn't mean we can't speculate about him being a scumbag

the giddey stuff is so overblown to me, it's just a twitter thing where people take a surface look at the allegations and lump it all into one pile. he was a 19 year old foreigner in a state with nothing to do, his teammates were all adults and he had a brief, possibly sexual encounter with another teenager. by all accounts he broke the relationship or however you want to describe it off after finding out, seemed like he understood the gravity of what had happened, never blamed the media or the girl or whatever, and there has never once been any similar allegation or just as important, never been an allegation of any type of wrong doing or anything of any type. I think at this point anyone who is bringing up that stuff either doesnt understand what they're talking about or is doing it in bad faith.

Yeah, what are we even doing here? It's two teenagers hooking up.

i would be way more hesitant (and im still a little hesitant) to defend him because you just never know, maybe there's some other case of this floating around and we haven't heard about it. but it really appears to be a one-off incident, it's easy to see how it could have happened, and to-date there has been nothing before or after alleged in any way that would make you think he was a bad guy and would cause you to look at it in a different light.

even the actual incident itself was sleuthed out by internet detectives looking at instagram posts, the girl never alleged he was manipulative or abusive in any way. but i understand having mixed feelings, it's not like the nba has done a great job of policing this kind of thing COUGH COUGH CHARLOTTE HORNETS COUGH

If he is a scumbag, then I will call him a scumbag but I need something more than a accusation from an unreliable source.

Do we have anything substantial to say he is scumbag? I'm willing to discuss if he is ascumbag but other than one questionable situation, we don't have enough to even spectulate.

Yeah honestly my hesitation to embrace him even though I'm aware of the details is just an overall disgust of sex crimes involving minors (duh).  But given the details, the further removed from the incident he is without further issues the less I worry about it.  Now I hesitate to embrace him because the Bulls are depressing, results of the first 7 games notwithstanding.

Don't hate the players, hate the administration.

Maybe they'll pull a 2005 White Sox, succeed in spite of their management's best intentions.

hey not to compare the franchises or players here really, but for all the credit okc gets, the rebuild (which has been as flawless as you can get) started with them trading a veteran to a contender for a young unproven player who found himself in the perfect role, was able to stretch his game out, and everything flowed from there. you're in the freaking east, youre a third player and a giannis trade to the west away from being a conference title contender

I don't think the Giddey situation is a big deal, but people are free to think however they want.

I WILL push back on the Bulls being depressing, though.  Giddey is become a star on a great contract and this team is deep with overlapping skill sets all day, play in the East and have a ton of looming cap space.  I don't think they even need to go out and get a "star" anymore, they might have 3-4 of them (stars, not superstars on the level of Giannis, Luka, etc.).  Right now they have 11-12 good nba players and should be able to keep who they want after the season when Vuc, Huerter, Collins, Ayo, Coby and Carter's contracts expire.

Buzelis looks awesome and they got lucky in that draft he fell to them, and I'm high on Essengue who we probably won't see much this year but looked good in the summer league and preseason.

They could be a better version of what Indiana put together last year.  Plus they're in the East.  I love the Bulls so I'm always tuned in to what they're doing, but I don't think this is a fluke and it might be time to get back on the bandwagon.

I mean, we're about 10% into the season, who even is the team to beat in the East this season?

Indiana looks terrible and won't get Haliburton at any point this year.
Milwaukee has Giannis (for now), but basically nobody else around him. He's practically begging for a trade elsewhere.
Knicks could be good, maybe? No Thibs, though so we'll see how things progress over the season.
Heat have looked pretty good so far, but I don't see a big difference between them and the Bulls this year, tbh.
Philly would be good if they could find good Embiid hidden away somewhere, but dude seems checked out half the season.
Cavs should be good but haven't looked great ever since they got blitzed by Indy in the playoffs
Other than that, what, the Pistons? Celtics? Hawks? I got nothing.

We haven't seen what the Bulls look like with all of their key components. I can't imagine Coby will make them worse than what they have shown us so far. Collins may just be another guy and may or may not improve the team by being healthy, but Rose has a lot of speed, and this team has been doing a lot of good things with speed. Ayo wasn't in that game against the 76ers, so they beat them without Ayo, Coby and Zack.

I really don't know where they fall in the big picture, but they appear to be better than a play in team. They will be fun to watch all year.

LOL. Meant Coby. Funny thing is I felt like I accidentally typed Rose and did a quick survey before I hit send when I didn't see it.

Tough away back-to-back against the Bucks and Cavs on the road. I would have been happy with a split. Bulls had a big lead but let it slip. Giddey wasn’t the same after turning his ankle. Jalen Smith was playing great and had a career night, but was taken out for Vooch down the stretch which I guess I expected but I also wish Billy would have stuck with him. The Bulls held Donovan Mitchell down in the first half, but man he exploded late.

Bulls again getting their asses kicked in the 4th. Wemby just completely took over and hit back to back 3s to take the lead with 27 seconds to go.

Hell of a game for Tre Jones filling in for Giddey 20/7/7 on 8/15 shooting
