Busch is hitting 195/259/442 as our leadoff guy. Stop the horsefeathers nonsense. He's not Schwarber. You basically tanked his season slotting him there and the offense has not been much better as a whole.

 

The problem is that im not sure who should lead off. I hate the thought of Nico there. Happ wasn't getting it done either.

Since the first game where he led off, Busch has a 93 wRC+ in the leadoff and a -17 wRC+ in all other spots in the order.  Lineup spots are not causal factors for productivity.

Could that be because he bats lower in the order with lefties on the mound, who he struggles against?

Since July 13, among Cubs with 70+ PA in that span, Busch's OBP ranks 9th.
