My god Caesar. Do you just write horsefeathers without actually looking it up hoping no one will fact check you. The last two years the Cubs have gone 30-26 and 31-21 in August and September. So now I have to ask you, do you even watch the team or are you just bitching to just say something without any actual facts behind it?

Fact check? You’ve been watching to much cnn! Have they not collapsed over the last few years down the stretch? Give me your reasons why they collapsed. I’m curious on what your seeing.

It was an egregious over slide man - he nearly reached the grass. At least the kid hit today, but the bonehead, mistakes continue.

Thats the most frustrating part. Dude makes awesome plays, somehow also does the stupidest thing you’ve ever seen on a diamond in your entire life at least once a week. Potentially the dumbest man in MLB today

No they have not collapsed thr last 2 months of either season. The record is what the record is. That is a fact. They were 30-26 and 31-21 the last two seasons over the last 2 months if the season. You act like saying something factual is a bad thing. So obviously you must watch fox, if I watch cnn.

They did not win those years because in one of the years they were only ..500 entering the final 2 months and in the other year they were under .500 going into the last 2 months. I would take either years last 2 months this year and they would win over 90 games. Keep in mind this isn’t what my eyes tell me. These are FACTS. Something that’s obviously not what you care about.

Good pitchers, bad pitchers, rookies, old vets

It doesn't matter who on the mound for opponents now, Cubs hitters will continue to struggle

"We need SP at the deadline"....Soroka sucks but our SP have been god-like in Aug.

"We need a 3B bat at the deadline"...Castro sucks Shaw has been god-like in Aug.

The best thing about this deadline is that Hoyer didn't trade any more prospects and waste it on this sad ballsack of a team.

PCA has 10/10 athletic talent and the baseball IQ of a box of rocks.  His extreme aggression gets him into more trouble than it helps him.  He's absolutely not El Mago on the bases so he needs to dial it down a notch.

At what point does a coach or veteran teammate sit this kid down and show him how to play baseball instead of flying all over the field like a gazelle with rabies lit on fire?  How has this not happened yet?  And if it has, why hasn't he listened?   How are you allowed to get past double-A when you can't do things kids in the Little League World Series should be able to do?

Strap a shock collar to his neck (and Nico's) and zap him every time he swings at a pitch headed towards his face or the Cubs dugout.  The walks would start to accumulate real quick.

Signs of a manager that has ZERO confidence in his hitters.

He PH for the guy who not only is his leadoff hitter but also, best defensive 1st basemen, and someone who is one of your better hitters, in the 6th inning just because a lefty is on the mound and hes a lefty hitter.

I'm curious to know what Busch's #'s against LHP were in the minors.  He was drafted out of college and has 1600 minor league PA's and virtually all at AA and AAA and was 26 in his 1st year as a Cub.  If he sucked in the minors vs LHP he's very unlikely to change.

If i'm PCA and Counsell i'm steamed that Sisk beaned PCA right on hip he landed on in the previous inning.  I don't even care if that's not intentional, there's no way to know, they need to bean Oneil next time he's in the lineup.

I also have no idea how Counsell lets PCA stay in that game when he's walking around limping and grimacing.  Sure its a close game but he's clearly banged up if not injured and needs to be 100% for the Brewers series.

Cubs have the 2nd best SP ERA in MLB since the ASB at 3.19 ERA.   Also 2.49 in August, best in baseball.   Guys pitching their nuts off and the hitters flushing it down the toilet.

Cubs were a combined 36-17 in August of 23-24 and 20-36 in May. The Cubs have basically swapped May and August. He’s got the right idea, the Cubs have a habit of imploding for month long stretches but chooses to die on the wrong hill on this one.

Is this team much different than the 23 or 24 teams? Just swap August and May and the team isn’t much different. Instead of the 150 wRC+ Kyle Tucker we traded for we got a souped up Cody Bellinger who can’t carry a slumping lineup.

He’s too good not to come out of it.  I’m just not sure if it will be soon enough.

He'll come out of it when he's playing for another team next year.

I think we all can just agree that this horsefeathers month can't end soon enough.

This is probably true. But oddly enough, a bad Tucker season could result in him taking a Correa/Bellinger like deal after this season. Something with a buyout after each year. I honestly do not see how anyone gives him a 12/$450, which was pretty much expected, after this season. If his hand was hurt this year he might have to prove he is a player worthy of that contract. Maybe another year and he ends up with 11/$410 after taking a prove it opt out deal of around $35M next year. Maybe a 4 year $35M annual where he can opt out any year. 🤷 I just don’t see next year as his biggest opportunity to get the most years and salary. Not after the season he has had so far.

Man, something about this game REALLY brought out the meatheads

Sure has. And now we have another who wants to start all his own threads. GREAT, just GREAT!!!
I am as frustrated as anyone else here. But the fact is they are still in good shape to make the playoffs. They do need to start hitting. But they do have the players that historically have proven they can hit. If they get back to their typical numbers they will be fine. I do worry about the innings with Horton and Boyd. I also know many will suggest if they get in they will be a quick out. And that is possible too. But it is also possible to play well in the playoffs after limping in. They just need to get there. I am sure when they are knocked out (if they are) all the negative posters will tell us how they knew they wouldn’t make it and give us their reasons why. Which is easy to do once a team is out. 29 fan bases will be right about their team. They didn’t win it all. So easy to just stay negative and wait for the “I told you so”.

I just laugh and laugh. We went from MVPete to "dumbest player in history" in 2 weeks. Over react much?

Some people don't have the mental toughness to be baseball fans

It’ll definitely be a Correa deal if teams are hesitant to pay him with the way he’s performing thus far. He has a much larger body of work than Bellinger. I think he’ll still get $300 million but that $600 million nonsense was never going to happen. I don’t know where got this idea that he’s a star on the level of Soto Judge or Ohtani.

To be fair, do we KNOW that Tucker thinks he's on that level? Or is his agent just trying to get him the best deal?

Ok, Stratos, for starters, beaning means hit in the head. PCA was not beaned. He was hit on the side. Second, Cruz is on the IL. Even if you pick Reynolds instead, what purpose does that serve to “bean” or hit him?

Do you really think the Pirates hit PCA on purpose? Come on? And on the hip where you suggest he got hurt and should have been taken out of the game? Really? He seemed fine after that play. Got another hit and beat a throw to send easily on his SB attempt. I know you view baseball differently than I do, but I do generally respect your opinion. But in this post you are way off in so many ways.
