The issue with this team are Happ, Suzuki, Dansby who go on prolong slumps every year. Now you add Tucker and this is what you get. The common denominator are those 3 players going cold the last 3 years to this pattern . It won’t change until there’s a change in players.

I don’t think it’s a slump.  I also don’t think they are THIS bad.  But they aren’t likely to be as good as they were when they were streaking either.

If anyone lost count, it's 11 games since Tucker had an XBH, and 20 since a homer.

Seems like a really solid guy who is just trying to do too much. That's the most polite way I can put it. Joe Maddon always said 'don't let the pressure of the moment outweigh the pleasure" or something to that effect. I miss Joe, he had a way of taking the focus and pressure off his guys. Not seeing that so far in two years with CC.

Yeah, and you add PCA’s incredible 2 months.  Bizarrely, not being able to have that is kind of like a slump.

Is Tucker hearing the boo birds yet?  If not, it has to be getting damn close.

There goes the hope of a hometown discount because everyone loves playing at Wrigley and the adoration of Cub fans.

Guy certainly appears to have a case of  the yips. We all hoped he'd be worth the gamble but it's not trending that way obviously. Baseball is a lot like golf from a mental standpoint. The harder your try the worse it can get. He'll come out of it, but it would be nice if it could be real soon. Like before we're buried in the wildcard.

He’s too good not to come out of it.  I’m just not sure if it will be soon enough.

Of horsefeathers course now that we want the Brewers to win, the Reds are beating them 7-1.  Of horsefeathers course.   The Mets and Cubs slumps have given the Reds a pep in their step.

edit: 8-1

9 runs combined over last 7 losses:

3-2
2-1
5-1
3-2
5-0
5-1
3-2

Last time they scored 3 runs and lost was against the Orioles on 8/2

We all know as soon as they start hitting the pitching will then go into the dumpster

The bafflement continues.  Down 8-1 Brewers come all the way back, and it’s only the 4th

Whatever they need, they get.

Exactly! This is who they’ve been for 3 years but you got people on this message board using the word slump. My god haven’t people been watching this team over the last 3 years. They go cold every year in August and September

My god Caesar. Do you just write horsefeathers without actually looking it up hoping no one will fact check you. The last two years the Cubs have gone 30-26 and 31-21 in August and September. So now I have to ask you, do you even watch the team or are you just bitching to just say something without any actual facts behind it?

If the Cubs can not take advantage of their schedule, nothing else will matter. The Cubs season is in their hands, right now.

That’s is one of the most simplistic and  intelligent comments in this entire thread and forum. Just straight to the point.

All the complaining and negative comments (I am guilty as charged as a frustrated fan) do no good. They just control their own destiny with this end of season schedule. Just win and don’t worry about other teams.

Thank you

Actually this Reds/Brewers series is perfect as an outlet for my anger.  I get just as pissed off no matter what happens.

Cheer up, it's almost football season. It's not like your favorite college team got outed today for being cheating scumbags...oh, wait......🤔

All 3 of those guys had had OPS over .800 (Suzuki over 900) the last 2 months of the 24 season. There are not the problem.

kept the title, all the wins, slap on the wrist.  cry all you want but michigan won fair and square lol.  Not saying they were completely clean, Stalions was an idiot using methods for obtaining signals that he could have just as easily obtained legally and thinking a loophole would keep him/them out of trouble but doesn't take anything away from what JJ, Blake, Mason and the boys were able to accomplish in 2023.

But thanks for your concern.
