So, we're just hoping for what a SP and a bat, maybe another pen arm?

I hate waiting

I'd be quite surprised with another pen arm. I think a SP is just about guaranteed and I'd put a bat that hit lefties at like an 80% likelihood.

Isn’t Guerrero a longer deal? 10/$500 is high unless they have deferred money. I am thinking 12/$500M

Oh yeah you are right.  Guerrero 14 years/500 million.  Tucker has no excuse now not to take that.. LOL.  Jk.  My fear is less so that the Cubs won't make a very competitive offer and more so a desperate team like the Yanks and Red Sox getting involved.

This just seems like it will be a trade for someone nobody is talking about.  Too quiet

No way in hell I could do sports on social media. The average fan is a moron and even those on mlbtraderumors are awful. I don't have time for a million hot takes that will ignore statistical evidence that they're wrong.

Rafael Flores is a decent catching prospect but no way can he be the headliner for Bednar, especially with the going rate at this deadline. Also interesting to note as he's in AAA and Pirates have Henry Davis, Endy Rodriguez and Joey Bart.

Feels like it depends on how you see Flores. 24 year old in Triple-A.. Passan notes he's seen as a strong framer and ready for MLB action catcher at the defensive side.

Statcast profile has some really good things and some not so good things in there so far at triple-A but it's small sample size.

I can see Iglesias assuming he doesn’t cost much, at all. He makes a lot of money so if the Cubs take his salary the prospect doesn’t need to be much. Other than that, I doubt they do anything else with the pen.

This seems awfully light

It does. Wonder if the Cubs just were not interested in Bednar or the Pirates asked for more from the Cubs because of being in the division.

Yep. Starting to get concerned. They helped their team some, but there is more to do. This would be a c- deadline.

If they see Flores as a legit MLB catcher, he's kind of a good get. The bat is quite exciting by catcher standards and that would make him quite valuable. If he's 1B or DH then yeah, this is very underwhelming.
