RIP Vidal Brujan, one of the worst all-around players I've seen since Neifi Perez and Jose Macias

Macias and Perez were HoF'ers compared to Brujan

Hot take, I found just about every character in that show unlikeable.

Same. Pam and Jim especially.

There's also this

I hate to beat a dead horse, but "we need to protect from our rookie 3B struggling" and "we need some additional CF depth" brings me back to one oft-mentioned name.

Phone lines in Jed’s office are so quiet the trade deadline thread became a debate over characters in The Office.

Is it ironic that I made this thread in an effort to thwart off-topic discussions elsewhere, only for this thread to completely devolve into an off-topic mess within two pages?

not seeing it. she was a pretty sweet character

Oh man, where to begin? She was too gutless to stand up for herself or leave a relationship she didn’t want to be in. She created an offense romance with Jim and eventually took it all the way to cheating, then rejected him causing him to transfer to another city, only to then tell him “hey, I’m ready now” as soon as her dysfunctional relationship that she wasn’t being faithful in ended. Then when Jim gets with a way better and way prettier woman, she’s pretty awful toward her and eventually splits the two of them up. Later, after Roy moves on and significantly improves his life and finds a great woman of his own, she got in her feels and was jealous of his happiness. She was a brat when her mom seemed very happy with Michael. She didn’t support Jim’s dream even when he fully supported her dream when she went back to art school. She was manipulative with pretty much every person she interacted with. Treated Erin like dirt. Jim was no saint either. He hid things from Pam and didn’t communicate with her. Their entire relationship was pretty much built on their belief that they were better than everyone else in the office.

Yea, they were awful people.

It should be a yearly trade deadline thread tradition.

sports journalists can just say whatever when a trade deadline approaches because nobody remembers when they're wrong

I don't know if I agree with this.  There's a reason that when Rosenthal or Passan say something we immediately go "Wow, interesting, so that would likely mean..." and when Nightengale or Bowden say something it's always prefaced by "Look I know this bozo is always wrong, but there's nothing better to talk about so I'm posting it anyway."

kind of frustrating that i'm not seeing the cubs mentioned among the half-dozen teams reportedly in on the top relief names. i know giving up a meaningful prospect for a reliever is usually not a great proposition but the cubs need at least one more arm they can count on soooo badly

Cubs seem to keep a tighter lip on what they are doing. So I am not concerned we are not hearing about them. Plus they also seem to do unexpected moves. So again, not concerned.

Supposedly the Twins are asking the Phillies for Painter in order to trade Duran which is absolute insanity to me. The guy was the #1 pitching prospect in the game pre TJS some have him a top 10 prospect in the game right now . I know he hasn't come back blowing people away, but he's fresh off TJS. Even with Duran being crazy good, hell no.
