Even if they get lucky and come back and win this game, this team has been exposed in some areas.  They won't make it the NLCS as currently constructed.  They need pitching and another hitter (IMO)

They definitely won’t come back. Not against that bullpen.

I think you are seeing things that are not happening. The.balls to right field he had no chance of catching. He wasn’t jogging. That is his speed.

That’s fair enough, I was being too reactive in the moment.

I’ve taken a deep breath. I’m fine now.

I didn't say anything about the balls to RF. Yes, they were hits.

I was just pointing out his whiffs and that his line is likely worse than he threw.

I know you didn’t. And I agree with everything you said. I was commenting on your original point while also adding my view on what others said. You saw him exactly how I did. I thought he looked good, but some people were suggesting Tucker hurt his numbers. That was meant for them, not you. Sorry for confusion.

I think they'll come back if they see Jax again.  Never been overly impressed with him.

I don’t know that he could have got to the balls, but it certainly did not look like full effort to me either.

I am frustrated as well. So I understand. I also think we are spoiled by how much ground PCA makes up in the outfield. We may at times expect other outfielders to do that too. And no one could.

I think they need another solid reliever as well. Doesn't have to be a closer, but Griffin Jax (using him as an example) I think will be perfect.

Looked to me that he knew he couldn’t catch them so he positioned himself to take them off the wall. I think he played them fine. He may have oveetbrown the first cut off man on the play they scored. However has Dansby turned quicker they could have had him anyway.

I just looked up his stats on baseball reference and I was wrong about him.  He has great career numbers and a low FIP.  Wouldn't be a bad trade deadline target

Jeez, I knew that Tucker isn’t a very good outfielder. But didn’t realise he was also an incredibly lazy one.

I dont know if it laziness but yea he hasn't really played some balls well the last month.

If this is your standard for ‘getting exposed’, the NLCS isn’t going to have any teams in it.

Why waste Turner in this spot? Some of Counsell’s decisions make 0 sense.

How did they waste Turner, if that is even a thing. He will probably go in and play 3rd base. Who else would he possibly bat for?

"Waste" is an interesting choice of words.  As if he's a big weapon off the bench.

Mostly coming from the perspective of saving him for a situation with RISP. Since that’s the one decent thing he’s done this year.

Lead probably down to 1.5 after tonight. Thought we were pointed in the right direction after that home stand but apparently not. We are leaking oil gents, no other way to look at it. The Brewers are smoking hot and we're treading water. ASB can't come soon enough.

Should of played this last one the same way and held him to a single 🤷‍♂️🙃 lol

What a garbage loss.

Down by 2 with 2 innings to go, can we please stop assuming games are lost when they are still well within reach?  Chances are the Cubs will lose, but we have seen them come back several times this year.

He pinched hit for Berti with 2 outs, likely hoping he could get lucky and hit #201 and cut lead to 1 there.

Lol, the cubs have lost one whole game in a row, people were saying this game was over when they were down 2 with 8 innings left

I agree. And for the record, I haven’t been impressed with his defense either. But I just disagree that he could have caught those balls to right earlier and even the one in the 7th. Yes, he should have played that one as a single.

And who would he bat for? Berti. That is it. So now he just takes the AB while in the line up.
