I didn't realize the game in June counts as less of a win or loss than the game in September.  Maybe they need to play with more of a sense of urgency?  They've gone from a 6.5 game lead to potentially down to 2.5 in a matter of 10 days.  Yes, I think it's fair to say the division race has "tightened up".

I think Brown’s problem is between his ears. I don’t think he is strong in the mental aspects if pitching. When he gets in even a little trouble he falls apart. His has a million dollar arm and a 10 cents brain.

Ben Brown just isn't ready for a 3rd time through order,  especially with just two pitches that he throws 99% of time.

Cubs had bases loaded 1 out and and a chance to tie or take lead, got nothing 

Cards come up and get two 2 run homers after 2 outs...

Yes, that is fair. It is also fair to say the Cubs are not playing well now. It is an overreaction to howl at the moon about everything. I am not suggesting you are doing that.

How does this explain 1st inning troubles. That is not a 3rd time through.
