12 earned runs the prior 2 before those. Guess that is what I am remembering. However in the one against the Nationals, I believe that was the luckiest game of the year by a Cubs pitcher. I believe they smoked the ball the entire game and Rea got lucky. And in the other one of the last 3  he wasn’t very good.

Which is why he’s long overdue. The pitching staff in general has been a product of Wrigley and outstanding defense.

I wonder if anybody bothers to preach the value of getting on base on a day like today?

It seems as though everybody thinks that they're Barry Bonds these last two days.

I agree with you he will suck today. I don’t agree he is overdue. I think he has pretty much sucked the last 4 of 5 starts. One he got very lucky. He shocked the last several because for the most part….. HE SUCKS!!!!

His ERA on the Rockies would very likely be close to double what it is. He wouldn’t have 5 gold glove caliber defenders behind him either. Double strike.

If you’d like to watch baseball but don’t feel like watching a terrible pitcher lose to a great pitcher, but still want terrible umps, LSU/coastal Carolina could be a good one, they just tossed the CCU manager and first base coach in the first inning, crowd is great.

Our division lead is going to be cut from 6.5 to 3.5 over a span of 4 days if these scores hold.  Very annoying

Yep, our mediocre June continues and the Brewers and Cards are playing solid ball. Helps the Brewers that they're feasting on a weak Minny team this weekend.

You should see their next 6 games while the Cubs play on the road against St Louis and Houston

spoiler: home vs Pittsburgh and Colorado

Watched the last 2 innings yesterday,  LSU starter was awesome,  threw 130 pitches in a 1-0 complete game win. Coastal had won like 29 straight games.

Slow your roll, homeboy. It's been a couple of games. Remember when everyone panicked last week about the offense?

I do but I wasn't one of them. Our offense is pretty solid overall IMHO. It's the pitching that is biting us currently. Can't control that Steele/Assad/Shota got hurt obviously. Brown/Rea/Horton have done a decent job until now. As I type this, Rea just gave up another HR, this time on a hanging breaking ball. He's a bullpen arm at best and again...it's been half a miracle we've won with him as a SP at all. Getting Shota back will help but we really need another starter pronto. Haven't heard anything about Assad except he had a 'setback' a couple weeks ago.

To me, this game feels like a game the Cubs win late.

Dare you to prove me right Cubs.

Not if they keep striking out...
