I hate the ghost runner. One of the worst Manfred changes imo

As stupid as the rule is, it is equally as stupid that it is referred to as a "ghost runner".  We can clearly see a live runner on second base.  There is nothing about him that is a ghost.

I don’t think either myself or the original poster was suggesting the Cubs are not good.

Bu you're actively looking for reasons why they'll fail. If you think the Cubs are a good team, you probably wouldn't be actively searching under every 10 game sample size to find the fatal flaw or the reason they'll do bad.

The Cubs are a good team. That's really what matters. Flawed? Yeah! Every team is flawed. The TDL should hopefully help that.

Feel like 70% of the time when the Cubs take the lead in extras in the road they blow the lead and/or lose the game in the bottom half. I know that’s not the case but seems to happen a lot

We’re on the same level as the dodgers and Mets and it’s blasphemy to even question that narrative.

Well so much for Palencia's OBA.

Great job of executing by the Phillies.

The Cubs are not hitting the way they should be as they enter this gauntlet and they could very well lose the lead they've built up by the time they face STL.

Well thankfully there’s no ghost runner in October so no need to include this game in the otherwise normal ‘games since April 23rd against teams over .500’ sample.

swanson is so bad at the dish man

He'll go on a 1-week heater eventually to make his numbers look fairly respectable again, before settling back into his usual below average self.

Not quite.  Someone mentioned they’ve been bad against good teams lately.  Really bad.  I agreed.  Does it mean we think they’re awful and will fail? No.  It’s a small sample size but still exists and there’s concern that the offense isn’t quite what we thought.  No one is saying the seasons over (well at least I’m not).   Just that we’ve played very poorly against decent or better teams lately.
