10 games over .500, boys...

9th time in the last 11 seasons we've hit that mark at some point.  Every year except 2022 and 2024.

94.4, 95.7, and 98.2 mph off the bat from those three, but outside of the last one nothing too threatening.

Balances it out because, the Cubs, sure as horsefeathers have had plenty of at-em balls.

97 win pace through the first 50 games of the year. We probably lose the pitching matchup all three games in Cincy, but I'm fine just making sure we win one of them.

7-2 so far on the easy stretch. Wanted 14-7, so very good start.

Yes, turns out the Cardinals aren't the greatest team, goodbye, we'll change it up, piss-shitbirds.  Herrera takes an o-fer today, he's a good looking hitter but, come on, he's not Josh Gibson, about time the regression monster gets to him.

This is an extra innings loss with Berti batting 9th. Encouraging to see Horton and Shaw make significant contributions in a win even if it’s the Marlins.

You may be correct or at least, there's a pretty high probability of an extra inning loss.  If this version of Shaw is what the Cubs will get for a while in addition to a hot Tucker and possibly heating up Seiya. I like the Cubs chances to score a lot of runs this weekend despite the pitching match ups.

Brewers tied it up, had Chourio not singled, appears Murphy was to going to pinch hit for Yelich with Contreras?

Adames plays for the Giants so that would be a trick.

Meant Contreras and yes, that would be quite a feat.

If this is the Shaw the Cubs are going to see the rest of they year, this is going to be a very fun summer. He looks like a different hitter. They have no holes in the line up.

I know the pen takes all kinds of heat here anytime they blow a game, but I actually think Counsell is doing a pretty good job mixing and matching them up. Yes, they blow a few games. As Jason said, a good team will blow more games than a bad team simply because a bad team won’t be in the lead to blow a game. Everyone talks about spending money on the pen. Who spent more than the Dodgers? And their pen has blown as many as the Cubs.
My biggest concern for the team is the rotation. They have a lot of guys that have never thrown 120-140 innings in a season. Even if they continue to perform as well as they have been(which I am not sure they will) I worry about them holding up for that many innings. Maybe when Imanaga comes back they go to a 6 man rotation.

The good: 3 Outs

The bad: all three hits 94.4mph or harder

The good: two had xBA of .150

The best: W

Still very weary that he is a guy reliant on contact-management and not whiffs.

And god I hated that send in the 8th. That was just dumb. Let Shaw cook. Stop throwing outs away.

A blown save away from a 6 game winning streak and 8 out of 9.

Eh, win on a blown save, lose on a blown save. Those things happen.

I'm not super excited about Danny P's whiff, but it's not terrible, either. He's getting 23% whiffs right now, and that can probably move up a bit, but if you miss barrels like he does, you can live that way. Ideally it'd be a bit more, but it's do-able.

On the send...yeah should have let Shaw swing.

I believe the Orioles are a hell of lot better than their record and will give the Cardinals a tough time.

I agree not a good send at all, right now there's a real good chance Shaw would have been able to plate Busch.
