About time Tucker broke out of slump, don't know why but, I think Shaw is going to mash tonight.  The Cubs will win and get that game back they lost, Cardinals are facing Skubal.

Taillon's 6.4% HR rate is by far the highest of his career. 13 HR allowed in 9 starts (compared to 21 in 28 starts last year)

Going down and losing a series against the horsefeathers Marlins isn't an option.

There's no need to be cute with likes of Hill, Sanofa, Sanchez, etc. they suck, Hill' been waived twice, go after these fucks.  Don't need any base runners ahead of the quality bats in Marlins' lineup - Norby, Sowers and Ramirez.  Man, I'm still pissed about that Hill at bat, complete garbage, should have never happened.

Don't think it's unreasonable to expect Tucker to catch that ball, wasn't a line drive, was up in the air long enough.  Think he took a poor route to the ball, even the Marlins' announcer sounded surprised he didn't make the catch.

Maybe he needs a day off when Happ gets back.  Maybe a few of these guys do

I think it is unreasonable to EXPECT Tucker to catch that ball. I don’t think it is unreasonable to suggest it was a ball that, has he made a nice play on, he could have caught it. To me it was a 50/50 ball. Sure, PCA catches it. But IMO Tucker shouldn’t be blamed for not catching it. It was a tough play.

If we lose tonight that’s three in a row.  We need a big pitching performance.

Need the bats to come up big hopefully, Tallion can hand the bullpen 3+ run lead.

It literally was a 50/50 ball. It had a 50% catch probability

I do however think it's fair to expect a gold glover to come up with 50% catches

This one will be difficult . Taillon struggling and Weathers looked really good last week . Velo up touching 98 at times . Pomeranz / Pressly / Palencia won’t be available .

Roberts has been called up , but he isn’t going to help in high leverage .  Offense will need to put up big numbers most likely  to win this one .

Bullpen tonight in a close game is basically Thielbar and Keller . I probably use Flexen over Merryvweather at this point 🥴

The Cubs pitching is a bit banged up and short handed but the Marlins are one of the worst hitting teams in baseball, sporting a 93 wRC+. So while the Cubs pitching is a bit rough and Weathers looked pretty good when we last saw him, Taillon is plenty good to give the Cubs 6 good ones against a bad team and the Cubs are good enough offensively to crack Ryan Weathers.

Seeing Moises sent down and Turner at 1B on the same day really gives me heartache. I know he needs reg playing time but man….

Moises isn't a first baseman, and he has a .716 OPS against LHP in AAA.

Hes played there sparingly in his minor league career, i think he was last utilized there meaningfully a couple seasons ago.

If they want to find room for a player, they will. They played Nick Madrigal at 3B for years which seemed like it would never happen because of his noodle arm, dont think they would be opposed to put Moises at 1B from time to time.

Also hes hitting .325 against lefties in AAA

Counsell reads this forum.  Happ is back tonight and Tucker is in the DH slot likely to get him off his feet, with Seiya in RF.
