I guess the no doubles defense is a thing of the past.

It;s a funny game, with 2 outs I'm thinking "Wow, maybe they've found the closer for the next 3 or 4 years"  SO maybe it's my fault.  ....and he could still turn out, obviously.

There you go, hoping again.

does tucker get bad reads on balls hit to him? not the first time where he looks like he's got horsefeathers in his pants while fielding fly balls.

He’s made some good catches this year but also some times where I’ve wondered how he’s graded out as such a terrific fielder historically.

Damn that game hurts . Weathers was showing some nasty stuff last week and they get him tomorrow .  They have no answers in this pen for these types of games .

Really horsefeathers annoying how good Cubs teams find ways to lose to the Marlins with the likes of their crappy 2B and SS getting RBI's.

Saw that Counsell said he thought Palencia ran out of gas . Well Craig he threw Friday / Saturday and you warmed him up yesterday as well . So basically he has thrown 4 straight days .

With the news about Hodge I won’t critique him for that move as harshly. Needed to try to secure the win and there’s really not a ton of trustworthy relievers.  You hope he gets a quick clean inning and you don’t need him the next 2 days because we’re winning by a bunch. Almost happened

I mind losing to the Marlins, if they're going to lose let it be because, a quality hitter, like Sowers or Norby has a big day or hit.  Drives me nuts when not so good replacement level players like Otto Lopez and Javier Sanoja are some of the reasons why they lost.  With the Marlins it's always the garbage that beats the Cubs.

remember when counsell’s whole thing was being a bullpen whiz

doesn't help when most of the bullpen arms are butt.

The whole game would have been different if Ballesteros touched home plate on that slide.  Seemed like that would come back to haunt them after it happened.  Careless baseball from a rookie who is 100 lbs overweight

Apparently the game winning hit had the highest WPA of any hit in baseball this year. 83.1%

That Sanchez is prime example of the lifetime garbage that beats the Cubs, 3.1 WAR for his career.  PCA has a WAR of 3 this year.  Everybody else is able to get Sanchez out except, of course, our Cubs.

Amazing what you can do with Josh Hader in his prime

Is it time to give Little, Cosgrove, Roberts and hell, even Riley Martin looks?  Just cannot continue with what they've got, might as well go with anyone to see what sticks.
