I know it's early, but Horton has been disappointing so far.  I expected mistakes, but I guess I expected him to have better raw stuff.  He just doesn't look like a future top of the rotation type guy.

Damn Shane Smith has been really solid this year and coming off his best start (6 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K) not what you want to see with a slumping offense but maybe the wind will be an equalizer.

So why were the Cubs favored? Sort of weird given the pitching matchup.

Yes and unfortunately, I don't think we've seen the last of him hanging breaking balls, they'll be plenty more.

So Horton just threw another straight down the middle, anyone watch his minor league starts? Was he doing the same down there and just getting away with it because the massive drop off in talent?

Boy that was a dumb decision by the Sox runner, there was no way in hell that was going to be a DP

And, I don't how the horsefeathers he was initially called safe - he was out unless, that was the umpire signaling interference.

It was the ump signaling a dead ball.  And while JD isn't buying the interference call, he clipped Dansby's foot and tripped him and that's why it got called.

Nice we’re writing off our top 50 pitching prospect 6 innings into his major league career, fun.

Right?  It's almost like these guys aren't finished products when they come up because they still have some things to learn and refinements to make that take MLB experience to get right.  But I'm sure they were all experts at their jobs on day one.

Well, that's one way to get your first big-league hit.

Not a hit, a fielder's choice

FWIW I've liked what I've seen from his stuff so far.

Holy crap, a double brain fart by the Sox. Should've probably gone for the DP in the first place, then Thaiss drops the ball on top of it, so no out at all.
