I will inject every motherfucker here in the forehead with heroin if he's traded.

Think he’s talking about the all star game, but either way don’t waste perfectly good heroin on this bunch

🤣. That is not what I was implying.

I apologize for not being a bit more specific. I did mean the ASG.

A bit dark.

After 2 starts I would say Horton is doing pretty well. I know he has given up 6 runs in 9 innings, but he hasn’t walked anyone. Today he pitched in a game with the wind blowing out pretty hard, and did fine. Best part of this is in two games the Cubs games the Cubs had to fill in for Imanaga they won both of them. I am actually encouraged by Horton’s two starts.

Same. I was thinking today that if the only thing he needs to "correct" for a while is command in the zone, it's a pretty good problem to have.

How are the Cardinals this good?!

They’re hot and it’s annoying but they’ll cool off.

Because baseball makes a lot of sense.

Cardinals crappy when Cubs are crappy.

Cubs = suddenly good.
Cardinals = good, for reasons.

Name a better historical duo?

Horton had some good fastball command today.  And no walks again.  Was bouncing the slider in the dirt a lot, hopefully he gets more chase by locating it better out of the zone.  Not going to get those swings like in the minors.

Still just the 2nd MLB game and still early in the year for a guy who hasn't thrown much in the minors.  Lots of opportunity for improvement and tweaking.

I know on occasion the scorekeeper can award a win to a guy who isn’t technically the pitcher of record. But that is usually done when the guy who is the pitcher of record sucked ad got lucky to be in the game when his team turned the game around. The scorekeeper can award someone else who may have been effective, with the win. But Horton was the pitcher of record after 5 and the Cubs never trailed. I thought that was the requirement to get a win using standard rules.

The pitcher needs to pitch 5 innings. Horton came in in the 2nd and left after 5. Because he didn't go 5 and the lead never changed, it became discretionary. Boog and JD were talking about it in the booth and JD said that it was more than likely they would likely give the W to Horton in this instance.

There was a game earlier this year where Pressly got the win in a game he technically got a save. That one was discretionary as well.

Will PCA be in ATL in July?

Yeah,  he could bat below average from this point on and still make it on his vibe and popularity alone.

I'm so over the Berti/Lopez experiment. They need to bring up Shaw now.
