Horton got it through some sort of scorekeepers discretion clause. The rules get funky.

I know on occasion the scorekeeper can award a win to a guy who isn’t technically the pitcher of record. But that is usually done when the guy who is the pitcher of record sucked ad got lucky to be in the game when his team turned the game around. The scorekeeper can award someone else who may have been effective, with the win. But Horton was the pitcher of record after 5 and the Cubs never trailed. I thought that was the requirement to get a win using standard rules.

I think they need to bring Shaw back and just let him play. That collection of guys they have there all suck.

PCA picked Lopez up nevertheless, had any of the 3B been able to put the ball in play they may have 12+ runs up on the board.

Basically if the starter doesn't go 5 IP and the lead doesn't change hands after that the scorekeeper picks the winning pitcher. No idea what that process looks like.

PCA has a 143 wRC in nearly 200 PA, in no universe did I even consider that was a possibility this year

I was just thinking earlier how funny it is that it took him so freaking long to so much as get a hit and now less than a year later he's destroying the ball.

Shaw is either the best fielder of all options or very close and he can't realistically hit worse, so yeah, let's get him back up here. Maybe by the end of the year he'll be PCA-ing

Actually a pretty good breaking ball from Pressly there although, I don't blame Palacios for looking shocked he somehow struck out.

I can see why the Twitter trolls call him PCAAA.. this guy sucks.

Honestly that would have been a great nickname if he sucked.  Too bad he doesn't.
