Gage Workman did his best to lose them this game by himself . Please Counsell don’t put him at 3B again .

Yea, just stick with Berti til Shaw comes back or Hoyer gets someone more reliable

Vidal's helmet held on for dear life until the bitter end.

I thought he pulled a hammy there . Didn’t looked like he had too much fun running towards home . Thank god , he made it .

That’s harsh.. think the first inning the ball had crazy spin away from him.

7th inning the ball looked like it  hit the bag and flattened. Keller walking back to back hitters after the leadoff single was a big issue that inning.

Glad we found a way!!

He may have rolled his ankle rounding 3rd base

A bit harsh, but his calling card is his glove. Offensively he's outmatched. He might be able to learn his way into being an MLB hitter, but offensively, he's not adding much for a bit. If he can't make the fairly tough ones defensively?

I try to be pretty nuanced, but this isn't the first gaffe he's had. Could be in his head. Could be a "we thought his glove was better than it is" type of scouting...but it's not working right now for him. On a human level I feel bad, on a baseball level, if his glove isn't going to be plus then I'm not sure he's an MLB option right now.

Not sure why players rounding the bases don’t just fling the helmet off their head when it’s just dangling there lol.

Key to Cubs success:  Bullpen allowing 5+ runs in an inning

Can't wait for this pen to turn things around, right around the same time the offensive cools off 😬

Counsell did not sound happy about the latter play in his postgame. “That play has to be made.” I agree, so stop playing him.

It may not have hit the bag.. but if it did I don’t know how you play that...if he plays it lower does it bounce high off his heel? Does he play it safer and make sure he gets 1 instead of trying for 2?

No matter what I say Workman definitely agrees with his manager.

Just trying to give a different perspective instead of just crushing the kid.

Kyle Tucker is the best Cubs hitter I've ever seen. Better than 2016 KB.

2001 Sosa for me, but the best I've seen since then for sure.

I feel for the kid, but he's made two misplays at absolutely brutal junctures over the past few days. Somehow the Cubs won both, but man.

I read the both plays as him getting ahead of himself, though the first one was slightly more excusable than the one tonight. The hard thing is that he is giving nothing at the plate, either.

I don't think they send him back to Detroit quite yet, though.

2005 Derrek Lee was pretty special.  That was the year he closed the hole in his swing on the inside fastball.  Only prime Albert Pujols stole that triple crown and MVP from him.

Edit: Somehow I forgot Andruw Jones hit 51 homers that year... Wow.
