Nice PCA!  Good work getting hung up so the second run scored too

Aha, I didn’t consider the strategy of it.

My God, it hurts to watch Bruce Boche walk out to the mound.

Nothing wrong with his leg, he’s just b-boy limpin’.

Especially since this ump been calling them balls most of night

Baseball umpires messing up calls in the late innings, obviously trying to finish up quickly reminds me of this referee who blew for full time 5+ minutes early.

Haven’t looked but, is Pressly getting some bad luck on batted balls?  Seems nearly every ball finds a hole of course, this probably due to the inability to get any swing and miss.

Only thing I can say about Pressly is that he is throwing ground balls at the least . Needs to cut down on the walks .  Would be really nice to sweep tomorrow because next road trip will be pure hell .

He is just walking too many guys in general .

Brutal April schedule, so every W counts.

I just did the math, the Cubs opponents for the first 29 games added up have a combined record of 73-37 and that includes 2 series against uncharacteristically mediocre Arizona.  Thats a .664 winning % and 108 win pace. Somehow we’re 9-5 halfway through that stretch, leading the majors in RD and should probably be 10-4 or 11-3. Good stuff.

Runs scored is 94, next best is 78

Hodge has very quietly blown consecutive appearances. We just do not have lockdown relievers. Merryweather got rocked too. Really frustrating.

Eh not like Hodge got rocked either time.
Last time he gave up a walk and a single. This time he gave up a bloop single and a fly ball that’s an out in any other ballpark in baseball but at Wrigley became an RBI triple.

I mean he probably shouldn’t be your most trusted reliever and walks are going to be an issue most likely but he’s fine as a late inning setup guy imo

Cubs bullpen and clean inning just dont go together 😅😅😅

I wouldn't call that a clean inning, but no runs scored, so I'll take it!
