Not a fan of the trade back. Don’t really like the guys they took there either. I think the OT could have been there at 72. So right now they traded the 41st pick where they could have gotten an edge rusher (BC edge) for the DT they took from A&M. This pick better be good at 109. Skattebo would be good here. Or Henderson. I think they need a back here.

This all works because of Ben Johnson. That's what makes it fun. Imagine Flus and Waldron taking these guys. Burden is fascinating - I assumed they wouldn't invest this high with their slot receiver and they immediately did just that. Then they made their investment into the trenches. Trapilo was a top 30 and huge, good athlete Rob Havenstein comp so no surprise there. Shemar Turner was a little surprising, seems like he's a bit of a head-case, so they went a little psycho on the d-line, with 2 of their top 30 guys in Omar Norman-Lott and Andrew Mukaba going immediately after to close out the 2nd round. They're clearly high on him. Would be nice to know their choice at RB finally, still a lot of good options. Wonder if Ben Johnson goes full psycho and takes Brashard Smith.

I'm at work, is ESPN broken or did the Bears trade the pick back to the Bills again?

ESPN isn’t broken

I'm hoping this isn't right, because it's just me browsing the picks, but did they really give up 109 for 132 and 233? That's frankly awful if it's accurate.

They got 169 too or was that from the previous trade?

Basically they trade back to get an extra 2nd round pick then traded back again to get an extra later pick.

I’m not a fan of the end result but I was OK with getting two 2nd rounders for one.

If they players the Bears are targeting aren't there I don't mind them trading back.  Might as well get more picks and increase your chances of finding someone.  Overall I believe the Bears are having a good draft, they got two potential early impact players, given this draft and the even-ness of the talent, that's not bad.

35th ranked LB with a grade of UDFA on the Beast. We were due for a Poles reach.

I guess, still would have liked a RB, reach next pick.

Oh I’m not excusing it. Feels wasteful. I’d have rather gone RB, EDGE depth, IOL depth, DB than a guy you probably could’ve signed off the street in a few hours. It’s a late fourth round pick so whatever, but it’s a peculiar pick.

I find this draft extremely mediocre. I had no issues with #10 and no issues with #39, especially if they really had him that high up their board, but after that it really falls off pretty hard. I didn't dislike Trapilo and I actually liked getting Turner, but I'd have much preferred just taking Ezeiruaku at 41 instead. I wonder if they got snake bit twice with Henderson going at #38 and Skattebo going at #105.
