3 games to go, a short week going against an injured Lions team then a quick turnaround 4 days later against Seattle

Bears are +6.5 dogs

The end is near for this team, let's just hope Caleb shines

I'd like to see an increase in the number of targets for Rome and DJ, coupled with a lesser number of balls thrown to Allen.  Maybe, work in Tyler Scott as well, it's basically a jump start on the pre-season for the Bears.  Better yet, just shelve Allen, he doesn't apply to future, no reason to waste any of Caleb' development on him.

This game is actually winnable. The Lions have played 3 games outside this year. 1 in Arizona. 1 in Houston. 1 in Green Bay in early November in 50 degree weather.

But the Bears won't win. They'll lose miserably.

I know it sucks but, a lose is better, in theory, with some effort, the Bears should be able to move the ball and score some points.  Don't really believe the Lions can stop anybody right now, even the Bears.

Lucky for them, the Bears will do that for them

Well, yes, given this team' extreme case of step-own-their-dickitus, forgot about this, thanks.

I am really looking forwad to this in a peak fun-bad way.

Ideally, the entire Lions defense being on IR should mean we get at least some sort of competence on offense.  Caleb Williams has had two bad games in a row, and in the sports world that might as well be an eternity.

The Lions offense is going to do whatever they want against the Bears defense and it's going to be hilarious.  I'm looking forward to losing like 63-28

Yes the highest draft pick possible would be nice, but I really really don't want this season to end on an 11 game losing streak.  We need some positive vibes going into the offseason and our QB needs that confidence boost.  If we were tanking for a QB, absolutely lose out.  But I'd prefer the Bears win 1-2 more games.  Heck even if we lose out the best we're getting is likely 9th anyways.

I dont understand why its so fun to lose. at this point, there is nothing to gain from losing

Literally the entire Lions defensive roster is injured, if there was ever a moment for the Bears to actually rebound and win a game, this is it.

That being said, Lions by 10.

That would be nice.  Don't forget though, we scored 3 points at home against the Patriots who are something like 31st in defensive DVOA this year.  One of Caleb's best games this year was against the Vikings (the first game), so who knows what we'll get.

One of my biggest issues with Campbell's aggressive style is keeping his starting QB in when the game is essentially over. I have a feeling that it's going to cost him his starting QB at some point, which will also likely end their season, since Hendon Hooker doesn't even get garbage time reps.

The Tennessee, Jacksonville and Dallas games Detroit had a combined 151 points to the opponents 29 points, and Hooker has 33 snaps this season. 9 pass attempts. I was sitting there watching a complete blow out and Goff was still chucking the ball down the field as if it was a close game. Weird.

Caleb's game-by-game has gone....

Bad

Bad

Not great, but 363 passing yards and 2 great 4th quarter drives

Good

Great

Great

Bad, with should be GW TD drive

Bad

Bad

Good, with should be GW FG drive

Good, with game tying TD drive

Amazing 2nd half, with should be game tying FG drive, at least

Bad, but with 116.7 QB rating

Bad

I honestly think he can end the season on a positive note. Lions injured defense. Seattle is solid defensively, but traveling 2 time zones on a short week should make for a vulnerable defense. Packers, nothing to play for Week 18 could all be decent games. I don't expect the London game to come back around in any of these last 3, but if he can focus on just getting rid of the ball and self preservation, he could make things feel a lot better than they currently are even with an 11 game losing streak (should be noted, I am not worried about Caleb either way).

For different reasons, but this is/was vintage Sean Payton with Brees.  Saints would be up handily with minutes left in the game and Payton/Bress are chucking 30-50 yards passing, running up the score and padding Brees' stats (often).

Man hard knocks rewatch would be hilarious about now

Remember when Poles was super proud about not trading velus Jones?

How much time passed from that ep and Velus muffing the kick in week 1?

I've seen checked out teams before at the end of a season, but this is majestic.

I think they'd forfeit the rest if the league would let them, even if they lost the paychecks.

Everything is under a microscope because of this horsefeathered up season, I would venture to say 90% of guys who have been beaten up would say such a thing.  Additionally, the media is looking to dump all over the Bears, anything and everything negative, just keep kicking them while their down.  I'm going to give DJ a pass.  I do agree about forfeiting.

Look at the Chargers.  5 wins last year.  Hire the right coach.  If they win tonight (likely), it’s a clear path to 11-6.

We absolutely should expect a great season next year.  Not incremental improvement.

We would be balling if we had Harbaugh. Warren needs to go. Letting personal differences get in the way of what is best for the team is inexcusable. He does not deserve to make this hire.

I want Lex Luthor from Amazon to make this call more than him.

I swear I read on Michigan insider boards last year that Harbaugh's choices were Michigan or an NFL team in California.  His wife hated the cold and was only interested in warm weather teams if he moved on from UM.

This plus attention to the OL and DL, most of the pieces to succeed are in place, other than Caleb finishing on positive note this season is a wash.  There's no reason they can't win double digit games next season.
