Dipshit attempts an apology with this -

“To Trevor I genuinely apologize to you for what ended up happening,” Al-Shaair wrote. “Before the game we spoke and I told you how great it was to see you back out on the field and wished you well. I would never want to see any player hurt because of a hit I put on them, especially one that was ruled ‘late’ or ‘unnecessary.’”

- putting quotes around late and unnecessary makes me question the sincerity,  I believe he did it to save his ass from the above suspension.

Back when Warrren Sapp decleated a bears OL and injured him (can't remember the exact play) I made the argument that a player like Al-Shaair should be suspended for however long Lawrence is out injured. It will never happen, but it feels like it should in situations like this.

That Sapp hit on Clifton was ultra horsefeathers. Guy isn't within 15 yards of the play.

While I don't think you can just make that a rule across the board, I definitely believe a dirty hit that ends a guy's season/lengthy stay on IR should have consequences as strong as ending the perpetrator's season just as well. 3 games is crap compared to losing your starting QB for umpteen games. Especially with a guy who has a history of this nonsense.

The league wants to protect players.  This seems like low hanging fruit.  Match up the suspension with the IR stint.  The offending player can return when the injured player does.

The Lions have a feeling of inevitability, like the 85 Bears.

Hope they do win, might make it easier for Johnson to move on, preferably, to the Bears.

I don't know.  Campbell will make a dumb decision at some point in the playoffs. Plus a lot of injuries on defense

It wouldn't surprise me if the Steelers or some other dark horse wins this year

I'm a bit perplexed on how they can achieve anything of significance on defense with all of those guys out. They did appear to scheme the blitz heavily on obvious passing downs while also trying to stuff the run heavily on 1st downs.

They may be replacement level players on defense but, at least, they were balls to walls aggressive. Trying to make something happen instead laying back playing not to lose.  Probably won't work against QB's who can better handle blitzes, might get burned a few times.

They did give up 31 points although 7 can be attributed to a bad INT that put GB deep in their zone.  They didn’t play great, but their offense picked them up and especially at the end, the gamble in 4th down was brilliant to keep the defense from having to hold up.

Bryce Young dropped an absolute dime to Xavier Legette that should've given Carolina a win in Philly, but Legette flat dropped it. Would've been a 98 yard TD drive to win it that included a 3rd and 11 escape job out of his own end zone and a clutch 4th down conversion (two if Legette had caught his pass).

He needs to start in 2025. He's shattering every expectation I had remaining for him.

I was shocked that didn't even get a look by the booth review crew.  I couldn't clearly see the ball hit the ground in the replays I saw.
