Barring something crazy, it appears we're headed for a Colorado-Carolina final.  I don't have particular rooting interest, should be fun.

Ice has been tilted for Buffalo for the past period and a half. Just tied it

Was rooting for Sabres, tying goal was sweet, too bad they couldn't get it done.

Man, it sucks Vegas is going to end up in the final.  Makar banged up, MacKinnon rendered ineffective after blocking a shot in the 2nd period.  To top it off the Avalanche blow a 3-0 lead. Game tied by a BS player scoring a BS goal. Doesn't help that Wedgewood keeps letting in soft goals.

What happened to Colorado? Swept by Vegas.  That sucks.  Rooting for whoever comes out of the East which probably is Carolina

I believe its a part injuries and the Vegas defense, them being banged up is the bigger factor.   Don't understand how a team with marginal talent is in the finals yet, the Blackhawks are light years away from a winning season.

Marginal talent? Vegas was a Stanley cup contender entering the season. They have Jack Eichel and Mitch Marner on the top line. Those are two guys the hawks are praying their own players turn into. Mark Stone is better than anybody the hawks can dream of being in their third line. They don’t have a superstar D but their D is much more stable and dependable than Chicago. Their goalie is probably a rapist Canadian maga guy everybody should hate, but the team has plenty of talent.

they also got to play a cupcake division and first two rounds of playoffs in comparison to Colorado going up against Dallas and Minnesota all season and the wild in playoffs.

A bit of hot take based upon my dislike of Vegas.  Don't think you can discount the toll injuries took on Colorado.  MacKinnon was just a shadow of himself after blocking a shot in game 3.  Makar was pretty ineffective as well, he tried, just too banged up to make a difference.

The playoff format HAS to change, though. As jersey said, getting to cupcake your way to the playoffs and then get to cupcake your way through the first two rounds (because you mostly play your cupcake division) is a lot of BS

Yeah it was dumb when they went back to this playoff structure in 2014.

Just seed 1 to 8 and then in the 2nd round the highest remaining seed plays lowest etc.

Oh no doubt injuries mattered. Probably goes hand in hand with the tougher road to finals being from that division.

but Vegas has talent and are not a surprise finalist. Sure a sweep is a shock, but not a win.

I'm not a huge hockey fan, but I can tell you that I'll always root for bad things to happen to anything that involves Stan Kroenke, so I'm pretty happy with the Avs getting embarrassed.

Why is Seattle included? It’s not wrong, just silly.

Agreed, but the rest are shameful (including my CBJ)

Habs outshot 41-16

I haven't watched many Canadiens games in the playoffs, but I swear every time I have tuned in, they're getting outshot 2-1. Didn't they win a game earlier in the postseason despite taking like 14 shots?
