Peredes -.7 WAR in 22 games is a downgrade from Morels replacement level zero. Without PCA and Amaya sudden surge at the plate this would be a bigger topic.

I feel like he is coming around - hitting the ball a little harder lately.

It’s 22 games

Paredes hit the ball well every at-bat yesterday, just missed a couple of them. I'd be more worried if he had a 40% K rate or was hitting weak grounders

Pitcher walks Cody on four straight, so Nico's approach is to.....swing at the first pitch (which is borderline in the zone and he pops him up)

That's Nico's entire career. It's the thing holding him back at the plate. He has 0 patience because he can hit anything. He's like Javier Baez, only he makes contact. He needs to inject more Ben Zobrist into his approach at the plate.

I never said it’s permanent. In his small sample size he hasn’t been an upgrade over Morel. Since they’re scoring more runs it’s not a pressing issue.

morel has been below replacement level with the rays so far too. even if paredes ends up sucking (which if a big if),  i don't think we'll care about that trade

Why the heck is Nico Hoerner hitting 5th?

Clearly so he could do what he did.

But then, Assad apparently has no interest in allowing us to win so it doesn't matter

because Wisdom is playing 3rd and batting 8th.

I don't care what Nico's BA/OBP is, he should be an 8 or 9 hitter

I wouldn't mind having Bigge and Ty Johnson back.

I have no idea how Swanson managed to turn on that way inside pitch but please score

I probably wouldn't either, but I do wish it could have been straight up or used additional position player depth. We just don't have quite as much on the pitching side in the minors.

Since the trade, Ty Johnson has been quite good. 46.2% k, 7.7% bb, 0.66 era, 1.15 fip
