Super small sample size, but Paredes has been fun, huh? Dude is pressing harder than Gutenberg.

His replacement will be coming soon

The thing is, he was already in a huge extended slump before he was traded.  Guessing the pressure of trying to get off to a good start with a new team isn't exactly helping him break out of it.

What I was saying,  he hasn't been hitting since the beginning of June

He's got a long enough track record of being a good hitter, I'm sure he'll break out of it.  Heck just look at Dansby Swanson, struggled mightily to end last season and the start of this season an- ....oh wait, horsefeathers

If PCA can OBP around .350, you have to lead him off next year, right? He'll steal 50 bases

If PCA can OBP 350, he would probably be the MVP frontrunner.

No doubt, and I completely concur with what you said about his track record. I am not too worried.

We have reached a 0 run differential

Seth Meyers Wow GIF by Late Night with Seth Meyers

Means we're underperforming our pythag record by 4 games this year after underperforming it by 7 last year.  Wonder if all those blown 8th and 9th inning leads have anything to do with it 🤔

Happy they took 3 of 4, but my excitement is still tempered by yesterday's giveaway.

Same here, as great as it was to pin three on the Cardinals, four would so much sweeter.

Pretty secure in the knowledge the Cardinals are done for, their starting pitching is weak.  It does not appear capable of shutting teams down.

I still kinda think the NL Central is up for grabs. Yelich's injury is big for Milwaukee. I'm not saying the Cubs are competitive but I wouldn't be surprised if any team in the central outside of Milwaukee got hot for the last 2 months and won the division. This division is spectacularly average right now.

I guess 1 season and 2 months is long 🤷‍♂️🤔

I seriously hope he can turn it around for the cubs sake and hit like he did last season.

If he gets on base about 220 times, he'll be closer to 150 SB than 50 SB.

When wasn't the NL Central spectacularly average?

2015.  295 wins from the top 3 teams.

Correction. He steals 65 bases (at least)if he gets on base.

Wining last night actually makes me even more angry about the game they gave away. They could have been 2 games from .500 and 2 games closer to the Cardinals had they not given that one away. I know it is unlikely they finish by playing .600 ball or better, but not impossible. And I hate that blowing that game might end up costing them in the end. Not only did it drop them 2 more in back of the Cardinals than they should be, it gives the Cardinals the tie breaker. I do think they will finish strong and probably end up with 81-83 wins. But they need 86-87. And that isn’t happening. Pissing away a sure win on Saturday is why it won’t happen. IMO they will pass the Pirates, Giants, Cardinals and probably the Dbacks. But they aren’t passing the Padres, Mets and Braves. Too little, too late.

if you think they'll finish with 81-83 wins, and they need 86-87, why do you think this one loss is so important?
