So Wednesday or Thursday

My guess is that tomorrow is the best option. If he returned to Chicago tonight after the day game in Iowa and was activated tomorrow, that would be a day and a half off for Todd. If he's activated Thursday and plays tomorrow, he'd have to travel to Chicago after a night game with the I-Cubs but be rested enough to play a Thursday day game at Wrigley.

According to IowaCubs.com, Walker has rejoined Chicago. I'd have to assume he gets activated for tonight's game.

Just heard on ESPN Radio 1000 that Remlinger is on the DL with a broken finger

According to Cubs.com, the injury is a "left hand fifth finger non-displaced distal phalanx fracture."

In other words, he hurt his pinky. Hopefully it's not too bad of a fracture.

Cubs.com"]The Chicago Cubs reliever suffered a non-displaced fracture of his left little finger when his hand got pinched between two recliners in the Cubs' clubhouse on Sunday. Remlinger had not appeared in a game since then but had tried to play catch with the injury.

How did Remlinger do it?

"One of the recliners," Remlinger said. "The handles on those things are wood. I turned quick and didn't know the other chair was right there. I could pitch with it, but we'll take time now to give it a week."

"We'll re-evaluate at the end of the two-week period, but it looks like that could be [all the time needed]," O'Neal said. "He has played catch with it for the last four, five days. We thought this was the best thing to do so we don't turn a non-displaced fracture into a displaced fracture."

Words can't even describe how ridiculous this team is. From Carlos and his computer to this, what's next? Dempster breaking a leg while trying to pop a wheelie on his bike on his way home from the ballpark?

Sounds like the Cubs need to require the players to give up all 20th and 21st century comforts and gadgets. Otherwise Derrek Lee will sneeze while talking on his cell phone and accidentally poke himself in the eye with the phone's antenna.:D

Kerry's progressing well. He threw a few flat ground sessions and hasn't felt any pain in a while. He took the day off today and will throw again tomorrow. He'll get on the mound for the first time this weekend sometime.

I guess Prior can be added. He was nailed just below the elbow during the fourth inning and immediately fell to the ground. He left the game. Huge welt just below the elbow. Len and Bob said when they know something, they'll pass it along.

Nothing we don't already know, but

Cubs.com"]Mark Prior left the Cubs' game against the Rockies in the top of the fourth inning after he was hit by a Brad Hawpe line drive on his right throwing arm.

The shot appeared to hit Prior near the right elbow and the pitcher went to the ground, grimacing in pain and grabbing hold of the arm near the elbow.

After being attended to on the field by trainers, Prior walked off on his own accord, but held his right arm close to his body and looked to still be in pain.

This thread is entirely too long.
You can blame UMFan83 for that. :(

Obviously, I'm glad I forced that line drive to go off of Prior's elbow :)

Cubs pitcher Mark Prior left Friday's game in the fourth inning after being hit in the right elbow by a line drive hit by Colorado's Brad Hawpe.

X-rays on Prior's elbow were negative, Cubs trainer Mark O'Neal said. The pitcher also underwent an MRI exam, but the team didn't expect the results until Saturday.

Well, it's just not our year.

ESPN just broke in with an update on the Yankees / Bo Sox game and said that Prior has a slight fracture in his elbow.

Not drunk yet, but I'm catching up in a hurry. I seriously cannot believe our luck. Why does this crap happen to us? I think the Cubs' brass should have that bar owner (can't remember the name of the bar) and a goat sit in a luxury suite for the entire rest of this year so maybe the curse will be lifted and we can compete next year.

Sorry. Ann Arbor, Michigan to Park Ridge, Ill is a little too long of a beer run for me. :D

Just listening to Mark's press conference and other post game notes, it doesn't sound like too many people feel this is very serious. It sounds like it'll take a bit of time to heal and then he'll be back. Mark O'Neil said the injury is in a part of the elbow that shouldn't affect his pitching and they said it's a soft-sompression fracture - meaning (I guess) it's inside the bone rather than on the outside and Prior said, "it's not really broken." Take it for what it's worth...but it seems the organization is in good spirits regarding this injury/setback.
