Hairston started in center for Iowa today and ended up going 1 for 6. He did get to shag some flies though, and last night I think he was 0 - 4 with a hbp.

I think the 0 fer was two nights ago. I'm pretty sure he had something like 3 hits yesterday.

EDIT: It was 2 for 3 with a 3B and a SB.

Any indication how serious ARam's injury is?

If ARam's done, please Mr. Hendry, pack it in, get everyone you can through waivers who won't be here next year, and try to get SOMETHING. Get the kids up here and playing...

Great.

From Cubs.com:

Chicago Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez underwent an MRI this afternoon at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The results of the MRI indicated a moderate to severe strain of his left quadricep muscle. Ramirez will be re-evaluated on Friday.

Does anybody have any news on Ronny Cedeno? He got hit on the left hand today and had to leave the game. thanks.

Chicagosports.com[/url]"]A hand specialist will check out shortstop Ronny Cedeno's left hand Monday in Chicago after he was hit by a Brad Hennessey pitch in the second inning.

"It's real sore," Cedeno said.

Cedeno stayed in the game but came out in the bottom of the second after dropping a pick-off throw from Mark Prior because of the pain. Trainer Mark O'Neal said the X-rays on Cedeno's hand were inconclusive.

"One view was a little suspicious for a little hairline fracture," O'Neal said. "The other two views were pretty inconclusive. Fortunately, where the fractured side is, it's not where he's really tender. I don't want to call it a fracture yet. He's going to be too sore to play [sunday]."

If the hand is broken, Cedeno will miss the season's final three weeks.

"We put him in a splint just to quiet it down overnight," O'Neal said. "If that's what they determine, that it is a fracture, he'll probably miss the rest of the season, but we're not ready to say that yet. But in a couple weeks, this thing is probably going to be pain-free. It's very minor."

From Friday's Tribune:

Aramis Ramirez is eligible to come off the disabled list Saturday but still is rehabbing his strained left quadricep and has yet to take batting practice or run at full speed.

"He's busting it, training to try and get back in there," Baker said. "He'll probably be in better physical condition than when he left. That's the state of Aramis."

Baker said he believes Ramirez will be ready to play before the end of the season, though he couldn't guarantee it would happen.
