Yeah i love Rizzo still and wanted him to retire a Cub, think he will be limited to minor league offers after this year.

Not being snarky, just curious. Why does it matter if Rizzo retires a Cub? I'd rather rely on memories of his better performances than the visuals of him being the shell of the man in his last year

Willie Mays started his career 1-for-26.  Giants message boards were all over him, posting that he stinks and needs to go back to AAA.  Stay the course!

They had message boards in 1951? J/k

You snarky little… jk

Personally I never wanted him to leave in the first place, i knew any extension with was going to age poorly but he means a lot to the city and org so i wanted him to stay. Seeing him in the cubs uniform again would be some pleasant nostalgia

The Cubs are for horsefeathers, don't get me wrong, but, I don't know what you can do when balls several inches from the strike zone are being called for strikes.

Pretty sure Busch is at least capable of looking at strike 3 (Wisdom) or swinging at a pitch a foot off the plate for strike 3 (Bote). Really dont understand the theory behind sitting your best hitter when you are "trying to win" for these 2.

Insisting on keeping Morel in the cleanup has been a disaster.

Maybe consider somebody a little less unlucky. Or less sucky.

In only 26 ABs, Busch has similar L/R splits. He should be playing today even though Wisdom hits lefties well.

hard to have a worse game than the SP that is getting shelled, but morel giving it a go.

I'm at the point where I'm wondering if he'd be a good trade candidate.  I loved him last season, but it's so obvious that he's struggling at the plate and isn't the answer at 3B.

Thought Imanaga was getting back on track.  Maybe he is and this is just a blip or tired arm.

Runs (earned and unearned) allowed last 5 starts:  7, 5 (1 earned), 2, 1, 8

I always kind of figured things would be a little tougher in the summer months given his past HR issues, but hopefully he can get it together.

Cubs haven’t scored 8 runs in a game since May 11 and it took 6 bases loaded walks to do it. Before that it was April 19.

So to win the Cubs have to do what they havent done in over 2 months without the benefit of historic levels of wildness? Should be easy.

Oh wait its 9-1 now? we're hosed

edit: The last 2 times the Cubs scored 9+ runs in a game they lost, the May 11th game vs. the Pirates, and April 16th against the Diamondbacks.  The last time the Cubs score 9+ runs and won was April 5th vs the Dodgers.  The Cubs have won just 1 game this year while scoring 10+ runs, a 12-2 win over Colorado on April 2nd.

Zaidman Is filling in again today on the radio.  Is Pat ok?

He sounds fine when he is broadcasting games, but he has been missing a lot of games this season.

I thought I read somewhere that his most recent contract gave him more days off than before
