I think replay should go the other way in these situations.  You can clearly infer that his hand got in.  HOWEVER given that's not how we choose to operate I would have been real pissed if they overturned that.

Hell of a relay there, putting the ball in the only place it could have gone to get the out.

Thank God Madrigal was the relay man

Looks like they may have caught a break 😆

It’s amazing that this team has a chance to have a winning trip tomorrow with the lineup they are running out there .

That was awesome but being stuck in the car having to listen to Zaidman call it ruined some of the excitement.  He kept saying that there were 2 outs after Happ's play at the plate. He said it so much that Coomer must have believed him and when they confirmed the outcall he said "ok then, 2 outs now for the Cubs".  And it took maybe 10 more seconds until they realized that the game was over and the Cubs had won.

Anyways, get better relievers and start hitting again.  The fact they keep winning despite the lack of those 2 things is amazing, this team will be good when they're whole

it is truly shocking how bad he is at play by play. listening to the game on the radio I often have absolutely no idea what  is happening on the field. can’t believe he’s been doing it for this long and nobody has said to him “hey man, you have to describe what is happening.”

The bullpen is neither terrible or depleted, and Shota has to pitch again in 5 days when he's used to pitching every 6.

I disagree, they blew an 8 run lead against San Diego and they blew a save against the 8-24 Marlins, not to mention all the other debacles between then and now.  This is the worst bullpen in MLB, which makes them the worst bullpen in America

19-12 record, minus Steele, Bellinger, Suzuki, Merryweather. This team will be getting some much needed reinforcements back over the coming weeks.

Bullpens giving up runs is not equivalent with them being terrible, trusting the pen to throw 2 innings after they used 1 reliever of note yesterday is fine.

That's true.  I expect it'll get better once they get fully healthy, and they can start moving some guys into the pen, like Brown or Hendricks or whatever.  Won't hurt to get Smyly back either and Merryweather.

Honestly, I thought good PBP was enjoyable and bad PBP was background noise but Zaidman has taught me that bad PBP can actively lessen my enjoyment of following the game.  I was legitimately upset when I realized I was going to be in the car for the 9th knowing that I had to rely on his attempts to describe what's going on during a tense moment.  I'm still not quite sure what happened on the double that PCA tried to catch.  Was it a HR he brought back in? Was it a catchable ball that he didnt come up with?  Somewhere in the middle?  Who the hell knows...I'll have to catch a replay.

It's just frustrating when they could have the best record in the NL possibly with a better pen

Would they still have the best record if you gave all the other teams wins in games where the bullpen blew a lead
