I'm not sure if it speaks more to the quality of the Cubs' depth or the fall from grace of the Red Sox but it's wild that we're throwing our #6 or #7 starter at Fenway and this game feels like a tossup.

Red Sox have their own injury crisis too with Giolito, Bello, Pivetta, and Whitlock all down. Winckowski was probably as low as 9th on their rotation depth chart as late as opening day.

Not sure where this goes, but according to BN Steele might only have 1 rehab start and come back around 5/6 or 5/7. May 6th makes sense if the Cubs want to give Imanaga the rest he usually got in Japan. He would go 5/1 on 4 days rest, this time, but then if Steele came back he would take that game and Imanaga moves to 5/7.

Underrated hero this year is Mike Tauchman..where would the Cubs be without the Palatine pounder..  reminds me of the pixie dust the Giants got from Mike Yastrzemski a few years back, except I think Tauchman is better and a legitimate starting caliber player, what a find by Jed!

Baseball has always been the place where facial hair trends are often at odds with real life.
