Ok so, I'm a little worried about Busch not being the lineup again...

Lefty on mound in game 1, he should start Game 2

Happ is injured with hamstring tightness

Though Luzardo has typically had traditional splits, in the small sample this year,  LHH are giving him fits.  I'm guessing he's had trouble with a particular pitch?

What I'm hoping to see:

1. Morel waits for a good pitch & jumps on it. He had been very good patience in the first few games.

2. Hoerner & Wisdom both have good days at the plate, we'll need it.

Hopefully this is just to rest Busch for game 2 but he’s gonna have to face left handed pitchers sooner or later.

He has, he homered off a soft tossing lefty this week in Arizona. But the Cubs have plenty of guys who can hit RHP and a DH. He's going to play *some* against LHP, but Counsell is big in platoon and playing matchups. Expect this kind of thing all year. Which is fine.

To echo others, there's lots of room between "playing against LHP *some time*" and "starting against Jesus Luzardo, when the entire bench is short side platoon hitters, and it's a double header with a righty starting game 2".

I'm a little curious of the thinking in going with Assad in Game 1, I would've guessed you want Imanaga to try to lead with the guy most likely to eat innings and pitch well so you can bank game 1 with as little bullpen involvement as possible.  Given the commentary from Counsell about Brown's use this weekend, I wonder if the plan is to piggyback Assad and Brown in Game 1 to see if you can get 7-9 innings from that pair and let the back of the pen be maximally available for Game 2.

I like the idea of trying to get through one of the games today with only 2 pitchers. Between the starter and the one arm(probably Brown) you get 9 innings. Then you have the other game to use whatever you need.

He’s 1 for 9 against lefties with no home runs. Playing matchups is smart but it would be ideal to see a larger sample size to whether he can hit them or not.

I know you gotta get through today first but let not forget tomorrow with Hendricks and him barely getting through 4 so far this season, id hate for them to go into tomorrow with the mindset of if they need to give one away to save the pen so be it if Hendricks falls apart again.

I truly hope both Assad and Imanaga can get 6-7 innings today so there will be rested arms tomorrow just in case, bats putting up some runs will help with that too.

Lotta season left for that, let not forget the bench guys need to stay sharp too and need their AB, so with the majority of SP being RH, CC has to take advantage of these situations when there's a string of LHers going up against them to get guys like Cooper and Madrigal their AB

The most PA anyone on the team has against LHP right now is 20, it's fine.

I might be able to get used to how terrible these stupid uniforms are if the MLB.TV ads didn't keep popping up with highlights from last year reminding me that they used to look fine

Luzardo doesn't look like the guy who has struggled so far this year

It's the cubs and 5 of the guys in their lineup aren't regulars 🤷‍♂️
