The Cubs face a run of lefties coming up and Morel's looking less shaky at 3rd, so bringing someone up for Mastro makes sense.  But the fact that it's not Wisdom has me a bit worried about an injury we don't yet know about.

Yep, I am a little concerned about this as well. Biggest loss would be Suzuki.

Crap, Suzuki looked a little awkward running to 1st on his ground out yesterday. JD and Pat didn't say anything but now I'm worried something actually happened there

Yeah I thought it was weird that they didn’t mention anything. He slowed up considerably on a ball he had a small chance to beat out and looked at but awkward.

Yeah Canario coming up is odd.  If they want RHB at DH instead of Tauchman they'd stick Cooper there.  Doubtful they bench Busch right now for Cooper or Wisdom.

 Hopefully no injuries!

Yeah...that feels like an injury. Who/where/what? I'm not entirely sure. But it feels like one. My best hope is that this is Mastro down, and maybe Suzuki taking 2-3 days off for Canario. What I fear is an IL trip.

Hopefully, this is being done to solve the problem in LF against LHP.  Also, they need to make a decision on Canario after this year, as he'll be out of options.  This will give them a good chance to see who he is.

Yeah, I missed this play yesterday... Thinking this is why Canario is coming up if the rumor is true

He landed awkwardly on his ankle rounding first base a week or so ago. I imagine this is a lingering issue that might have been re-injured.

If it is Suzuki hopefully it's just letting him DH for a ~week to get off his feet as opposed to an IL stint.

We know how this goes. They keep him on the roster to see how he does, maybe he pinch hits once, then they finally put him on the IL next Tuesday when it hasn’t gotten better.

So true and it's frustrating.

I think if Canario is coming up because of Suzuki, the best case scenerio is Cubs cut/drop someone else like Mastro or Cooper and Suzuki missed only 3 games or so. I doubt he is the DH for at least a few days. If he is hurt. And I do think it is him.

What if it’s Morel with his hand that’s been bothering him? Would make it even more odd then that Wisdom didn’t get the call, I guess. I agree though that it’s probably Suzuki.

Posted this in today's game day thread but Rogers says he think it's Seiya. Might be in his Twitter replies.

If Seiya is shut down for a bit, it'll be interesting to see if Counsell goes with Canario in RF or if he goes with the veteran (Tauchmann or Cooper).  Pretty obvious what Rossy would do.

I would guess based on the amount of time spent playing already, the answer will be "Tauchmann" most of the time, which is probably the correct call. With that said, I think Canario would be given opportunities, I'm sure, and he's got enough electricity in him that he could really add some thump.

Think Canario DH and Tauchman in RF vs righties and Canario RF and Cooper DH vs lefties

It is indeed Seiya.  And obliques are never a minimum stint so presumably put Seiya's ETA in line with Steele's?

It took Seiya 18 days to return from his oblique injury last year FWIW

In 2022 he missed nearly 2 months with another oblique injury.

Edit: nevermind, it took him 7 weeks to return from the injury in 2023.  So 7 weeks and 8 weeks
