Didn’t the Sox have their game at 1? Rain and snow should be clear by Cubs game time, unless they want to postpone because it’s too cold for them.

Not sure where to post this:

Forbes has cub value at $4.225 Billion, with the 3rd highest revenue, barely behind the Dodgers

Good news. Even with the pitching depth a little taxed (Little) the Rockies are so bad. Rather we play this than not.

Watching home games vs the Rockies is very fun.

I hope Brown looks like a pitcher today and not just a thrower

Pitching against the Rockies should help him a lot and hopefully he does well and gets some confidence for future starts.

Starting to like Assad, he gets the grounders given everything he throws moves well including a good sinker,  so maybe the K #'s play up a bit.

I'm wondering what the rational is for starting LL today, didn't he get a relief appearance yesterday?  And isn't there a 'surprise' element that's lost if those hitters just saw him?  I'm thinking maybe he's just an 'opener' that goes 1 inning today

Bellinger DH'ing, Tauchman in CF tonight.  Didn't think they'd do that much.  Trying to keep everyone fresher I guess.

Interesting.  Found the article.  Value and revenue is right where the Red Sox are.  If "operating income" is basically "profit" (revenue minus expenses) then the Cubs were tied for 2nd with the Pirates for most profitable teams last year, though many teams turned a profit of between 50-65m last year.  The Mets were an insane 292m in the hole.  Hero owner!

Tied for third behind O's and M's, but your point stands.

Amaya for the second night in a row and the 3rd time through 6 games.  Looks like him and Gomes are slated to something much closer to 50/50 this year and I like it.

I just don't see how they get this one in, even if the weather clears up. The field is going to be a complete mess since it's been snowing and raining all day, and the warning track is going to be a minefield for the unwary.

Can't see the warning track, but can see the side-dirt down the foul lines, so I'd guess they'd be in similar status. Honestly...field looks alright!

I can't remember the last time I've been this excited to watch a Cubs offense play, probably not since the WS squad.  They have a really nice blend of veterans + young talent, and nearly all of them seem to churn a good AB consistently.  Hard to believe Morel is only 24.

The veteran Gomes said let the kid play in the cold and rain 😅😅
