Flacco to the colts, who I thought were a good sleeper destination for fields.

All the qb1 jobs are gone and the qb2 jobs are filling up a bit quick.

His best bets are teams that have a starter on his level (non top 20 starters) that he can come in and compete with. But you probably have to throw out Minnesota in the division. I think we could see a team not on the radar taking him as a backup, potential developmental guy (Rams, Seahawks)

Yes they can. It's going to be Caleb Williams

Sure hope so.  I've been on this board for 21 years so most know I can be irrational but I'm at least slightly worried the Bears are doing something stupid.

Things are starting to get a little weird, if I'm being honest.

The simplest, most likely explanation to me is that the bears overestimated the market for fields and poles is stubbornly waiting it out rather than admit it.

But that's an ad hoc explanation, my previous belief (the bears know fields sucks and are dumping him so they can draft Caleb) wouldn't have predicted this outcome, so it's worth considering that something different is happening.

Maybe only being slightly worried is the irrational part lol.  You could easily build a case that by Poles' decisions this week that he's planning to keep Fields and trade the pick

-Cap space left on the table (for a QB extension?)

-Gaping holes left on the roster despite only have 5 draft picks (trade 1.01 for picks?)

-No Fields trade and not many whispers as pretty much all starter roles are filled and now many of the backup roles are filled

Ahhh, trying not to think about it too much.  It would be the most Bears thing ever to do this.

If he hadn't signed Rypien, I would think maybe he's gonna keep Fields and still draft Williams. I don't really think Eberflus would want a rookie QB right out of the gate, He just seems like a guy who wants veterans in place.

Can they get a pick for Bagent?

Rypien is a practice squad caliber player. His signing is meaningless.

Just reading the rumors and stuff, it appears that they have been trying to trade him and every time they get close the other team finds a better option that doesn't cost them draft picks.

Goony's thesis that they can have both Wiilaims and Fields on the squad may get put to the test.

I was optimistically thinking they could get a 2nd rounder for Fields, that was way off. Maybe end up
releasing him.

Atlanta now has Drake London, Mack Hollins, Darnell Mooney and Rondale Moore at WR. We can probably remove them from the list of teams ahead of 9 that take a WR.

Chargers cut Mike Williams and may still cut Keenan Allen since they are still over the cap. One of Mack, Bosa or Allen will need to be cut most likely.

AZ will most likely be taking MHJ.

Titans signed Ridley and still currently have Hopkins.

Giants have crap. But they did sign Isaiah McKenzie.

I feel like one of the Giants or the Chargers are candidates to allow Minnesota to move up and make sure they get JJ McCarthy.

Still a chance the top 3 WR's go before the Bears pick, but it would require the Chargers and Giants to go WR with their picks and not trade back.

While I'm cool with signing an actual center, I can't believe Poles is going to depend entirely on the draft to fill Edge and WR2/3. You absolutely cannot entire the season where you're one injury away from Tyler Scott being your #2 WR.

NFL looking into tampering allegations with the Cousins and Barkley signings

Yes definitely look into that, but also definitely don't look into any other signings that were made minutes into FA
