NE is about to to be 1-6, they had Jimmy G at QB who while not good is miles better than Hoyer, and the game was in LV.  Still a pretty depressing team.

I think it’s more indicative of how many bad teams are in the NFL right now

I'm not saying we have to start Bagent even if Fields is healthy, but thinking it might happen feels like less of a meme than it did.

The passing O has looked very John Shoopish….

162 passing yards and everyone is excited.

Well to be fair, he led the team to such a resounding victory that he had very little chance to throw in the second half and pad his stats.

But I think I'm more excited that he proved that many of the other pieces of the team are adequate and being held back by QB play.

The problem is, who is the QB then? Williams just doesn't look the part of the elite QB people are claiming he is. Maye strikes me as a good, not great QB prospect.

You draft one and hope for the best.  That's life in the NFL without a good QB, it sucks but that's what you have to do.

Now, it's just one game.  He will have games where they fall behind and he'll be forced to throw downfield.  Teams will identify what he's doing and try to take it away.

But if he does something similar the next game or two while Fields is hurt, I don't know how you can look the locker room in the eye and tell them that Fields is going back in, sorry about your sack totals and reception numbers guys.

The Bears schedule will continue to be pillow soft, as their only remaining games against winning teams will be against the Lions.

They're 2-5 with the 4th worst record in the NFL, but still have a feasible path to a playoff spot in the NFC if they can beat the bad teams on their schedule. They won't beat out the 49ers, Eagles, Lions or Cowboys, but there are still 2 wildcard spots up for grabs in a conference where at least half the conference seems to be trying to be terrible.

Correction, the Browns converted on 4th and goal from the 1, so they are also a winning team as of now.

Denver and Arizona both off to good starts in their games, such that the Bears could still end the day with the #2 pick.

Against top 25 defenses

Denver beats the Packers, so the Bears are 3rd now. And a game out of an NFC playoff spot.

So, QB controversy brewing?

lol

Well, Fields is out for at least one more game, so there's no controversy next week.

But if Bagent goes out and does something similar, I think so.  I don't know how you look your offensive line in the eye and say "you know that guy who causes you to give up 4 sacks a week on average? We're going back to him."  Or the same thing with the receiving room and only targetting about 2 different receivers per game.
