I'm not sure it does, the coaches have a hard time game-planning to his strengths this year. One thing that did happen against the Broncos was a very different gameplan, from what analysts are suggesting

I also read that the Broncos played largely man coverage in the first half and he torched them on it.  They switched to zone in the 2nd half and Fields coudnt read the field as well and started checking down a lot more.  Not sure if its valid, TBH I didnt watch much after they were up 28-7 because i had to coach my kids baseball game.

I saw that as well but, checking out some of the Jenkins and Chase Daniel analysis, you see him looking off defenders in zone coverage and hitting Moore in the soft spots.  That's why it was encouraging.

BTW, this is largely where I read that bit about man vs. zone and how it changed as the game went on and the difficulty he had adjusting to it.

@gflore34 I've been so burned out with analysis videos that i didnt keep up with them this week but good to see others noticing him doing the right things in those moments.

I've seen a few places say the broncos played almost exclusively man early and then fields struggled when they switched to zone. I've also seen a few places say that was nonsense and they were running zone earlier too.   I don't feel like watching the whole tape to find out who is right

I heard some chatter about the owners wanting Flus and telling Poles that. Makes you wonder if they told Poles "Flus is the guy, but you can meet with him to confirm you want to work with him. You'll be his boss and have fire/hire authority. If you like him and the arrangement the job is yours?"

I've never wanted to accuse the Bears owners of meddling or being the ultimate cause of the franchise's problems but they did tell Emery he had to keep Lovie for a season, so I wouldn't put it past them. If I was Poles and didn't absolutely love Flus I'm not sure I would have taken the job, since GMs don't tend to get second chances like coaches. At the same time, there are only 32 of these jobs available and it's probably wise not to pass on it when opportunity is there.

There were rumors that Pace was basically forced to hire Fox as well. I wouldn't assume Bears owners are NOT meddling. There's too much out there that suggests otherwise.

It's insane that they make the same mistakes over and over again.  The rumor is that Trace Armstrong basically influenced the GM and HC hire and they are both his clients.  The Bears didn't find that strange at all?  They didn't think of maybe trying something differently when the last time they forced a new GM to hire their chosen HC it failed miserably?  Nope just do the same thing all over again and hope it works out this time.

I mean the think with Trace also, is I think, he's legitimately a "power agent" in the coach and exec space.  I haven't seen a list, but probably tripping over him as representation when interviewing up and coming candidates.

Anyways, even the Fox rumors have always been really poorly supported IMO.  I went back and looked a few times and Greg Gabriel is one of the biggest insiders I've seen who's adamant on it, but I've also seen him say Fox was hired first when in actuality he was still Denvers coach when Pace got hired.  Then he does his normal appeal to authority nonsense.  Fair to wonder if he is indeed just a confused old man.

DBB also recently called Pace-Fox an arranged marriage. While I'm inclined to believe a lot of what he says cuz he's broken verifiable facts before, its also assumed he sat really close to Phillips or McCaskey family and has at times pushed out a pretty Pace apologetic view. So it has big BS vibes to me given the hiring timeline and that these rumors first popped up as soon as Pace's seat was hot.

Anyways, will be my hottest take to end days to say that ownership probably isn't forcing these guys together, but also if they are I really don't care either.

yea, I mean at the end of the day they are professionals (presumably) and should be able to work together.

The McCaskey family are full of dumb people who had the luck to be born into the family.  Nothing would surprise me about any rumor

Saw a great reddit graph about "have won a game since oct. 25 2022" and it's every major pro north american team, every WNBA team, a bunch of soccer teams and more under "yes" and just the Chicago Bears under "no."
