Anatomy of a collapse: horrifically slumping offense loses a bunch of low scoring games then starts to get it together in time for the pitching to fail and start losing high scoring games. 
 

At least there was one magical game where the better offense and good pitching intersected

Why? Wisdom isn’t going into the game. They need someone to play center. Unless wisdom went to first and Bellinger to center why not put PCA in for Wisdom? He wasn’t going to play the field anyway. 
I get everyone wants to criticize EVERYTHING Ross does, but putting PCA in wasn’t stupid.

I'm not sure what else Ross can do pitching-wise.  He has lost 3 out his 4 top relievers (Alzolay, Fulmer, and I'm counting Leiter who went from reliable late innings guy to worthless) and the starter only went 3 innings.  I really can't fault him for bullpen usage at this stage.  He just has to put guys out there and hope they execute.

they’re more likely to need a three run hr from wisdom than PCA’s speed/defense.
