That’s on them for dipping into the aging Packer legend well again.

So Jordan Love will be on the Jets in 2038?

Rodgers story reminds me of that Greek myth about this unstoppable warrior with an unseen fatal flaw. Forget that guy's name, though.

I think you mean Hamstring of Athens, the great swimmer who drowned while delivering a message to Corinth in the 2nd Pelopanitian war.

I don't like seeing any athlete injured. As a Bills fan, I honestly feel for the Jets.

Rodgers isn't an athlete. He's an ass.

I also hold to the "don't wish injury on a player" principle.

So I get home from work yesterday, and my wife says this Rodgers thing is all over social media.  Tik Tok feed has little else other than Rodgers stuff.  She's a Packer fan.  And she goes ahahahah!  Karma!

Rodgers is enough of an ass / COVID denier / jaggoff that I'll make an exception.  A season without him is great news.  I'll enjoy the NFL that much more this year.

My perspective as a Jets fan is:

- Zach Wilson, especially post-Geno Smith, is a “good” QB prospect. His college resume is untouchable even adjusting for a friendly offense (youngest starter in school history, nearly a full 3 year starter, dominated bowl games, dominant completion%), he only just turned 24, has NFL experience, tons of early life capital has gone into making him into an NFL QB, it’s almost inevitable with health…

LOL. This entire portion is absurd. It's so absurd that I almost think you're joking. Except I'm like 99% sure that you're not.

He's not a "good" QB prospect anymore and was overrated to being with. His college resume includes one good season. The other two he threw a total of 23 TDs in 18 games. That he dominated two bowl games is irrelevant. You know who else dominated a bowl game? Jamarcus Russell. How did that one turn out. Also, those three games were against Group of 5 teams that went 7-6, 10-5 and 6-4. It's hilarious that you think his 30 game sample of a completion percentage in college matters when we've got a 22 game sample in the NFL that is significantly worse.

The Jets have talent on their roster. Just not at the QB position.

My perspective as a Jets fan is:

- I wanted Lamar Jackson anyway

- They keep the 2024 first round pick

- Rodgers already brought a ton of Value to the franchise by raising expectations and running a tight, healthy, and productive training camp (I enjoyed the hell out of Hard Knocks)

- even with Rodgers this was a team built around the DL, CBs, and rushing offense with top of the league potential. Boyer’s an excellent STs coach and this is his most talented group w/ Hardee at captain and a badass kicker in Zuerlein

- Garrett Wilson, not Rodgers, was and is the key to a passing game in 2023

- Zach Wilson, especially post-Geno Smith, is a “good” QB prospect. His college resume is untouchable even adjusting for a friendly offense (youngest starter in school history, nearly a full 3 year starter, dominated bowl games, dominant completion%), he only just turned 24, has NFL experience, tons of early life capital has gone into making him into an NFL QB, it’s almost inevitable with health…They’re not going to do better on the fly. Ultimately I kinda trust in the process, that eating horsefeathers with tons of money and resources and health to fall back on already is a good position to be in at 24 for literally anyone let alone someone whose entire existence is almost most specifically this. He doesn’t need be to the GOAT, there’s tons of money and career in just moving the ball without getting everyone killed

- The Plan (mine anyway) is to draft - with a non-first - a QB prospect and still is. This is a good QB class and the position overall has a good outlook. I like the lefty but someone will be there

- The OL generally played better as the game went on, and wasn’t responsible for Rodgers’ injury. He straight up held onto the ball too long

- A more Jets scenario would be Rodgers gets hurt after taking 60% of the snaps (losing the 1st)

- Breece Hall’s going to be the best RB in franchise history. He and Wilson (the QB) are 5-0 or something when starting together

Woah. I love Breece Hall, but he’s got a long, long way to go to put himself in the same conversation as Curtis Martin.

Zach Wilson is a Trubisky level bust; the defense and Josh Allen won the game for them vs Buffalo in week 1. Also, its week 1, hard to take anything away from the first week of the season. Jets have a great D, but they might sneak in to one of the Wild Card spots and then get curb stomped by one of KC,Buf,Cin, and maybe Baltimore in the playoffs

Mitch is substantially better than Wilson.

If I was building an expansion football team and my only NFL options at QB were Z. Wilson and Trubisky, I'd take Wilson. But, I'm pretty sure I'd be looking for a college QB to be my year one starter over those options. I think Wilson will be fine as the fill in this year. I don't think they can go far in the playoffs, but he's got horses to get them there.

If the Panthers lose tonight, they'll be 0-2 with two divisional losses and everyone else in the NFC South will be 2-0. So this is about as important as a Week 2 game ever gets if this team is to be anything besides an accomplice in the Bears' plans to get Caleb Williams.
