Watching the Phillies - Padres game right now and Wacha clearly doesn't have his best stuff today. He's been lucky so far, but it's only a matter of time before the Phillies break through against him.

It's Michael Wacha. That is his best stuff.

Solid burn. But his best stuff involves some semblance of control over where it's going. He might as well be throwing knucklers today.

FG Playoff odds up to 92.1% based on their projections and 95.7% based on season to date stats.

Edit: Also up to 41% to win the division and 4.9% to win the World Series

I was briefly concerned when I looked at the playoff odds graphs for the wild card slots and saw the Brewers odds going up. Then my dumb self realized why...

Also, as I expected, Phils just broke through against Wacha. Harper with a 2 run double into the gap. 3-0 Phils.

this is so much fun. I"ve made a promise to myself that I will enjoy this playoff run. In 2016 I was so anxious I couldn't watch the end of the WS. I had to get reports from my wife.

lol, I literally did not watch or follow the Cleveland half of the 9th inning of Game 7.  I was walking around in Wrigleyville listening to various sounds coming from bars because  I couldn't stomach the thought of being in public watching the Cubs getting walked off in Game 7 of the World Series.

Geez the DBacks piling it on now, up 10-5.  Phillies are up 4 now too.

Need the Reds and Marlins to fall tonight so we can increase our WC3 cushion to 4 games and playoff cushion to 4.5 games.

Heard someone make the point today that this is the first good Cubs team that isn't really tied to the WS team (yeah, yeah, Hendricks and kinda Jeimer) but also doesn't have all the crap and anxiety (and talk) about the curse hanging over them.

Literally something we've never experienced, lol.

I for one am looking forward to doing a "Top 7 moments of 2023" thread.

Dodgers are really annoying me with their lack of Marlin-beating

Don't worry, the Brewers will beat them next week.

Damn Marlins up 9-1 now.  Gonna win their 6th straight after falling under .500.  Sucks that these guys we have lost the tiebreaker to are the ones hanging around.  I'm pretty sure we'll make the playoffs at this point but I'd like to stretch that lead out as much as possible.

On the other hand, it helps keep a bye in play and increases the chance the Braves are coasting that last week.
