Who would have thought that Suzuki was going to lost his lineup spot to Nick Madrigal

Just going to say it and take heat from others. Madrigal has been pretty damn good. Both defense and with the bat. Better than I expected. He deserves to be in the line up.

Nats increase lead over the Reds to 7-3 in the 9th.

Rangers up 8-6 in the 8th

Unfortunately the Brewers have Burnes pitching tonight and the Pirates are countering with someone that has a 5.13 ERA, which would have been much higher if any of the 6 runs he allowed last game were earned.

Madrigal or Tauchman???

Just think it took an injury to Tauchman and Swanson for both to get extended PT and perform and stick around

I've been saying this for a while. Whatever he changed in AAA to start elevating the ball probably saved his career. He's up to a ,720 OPS and 101 wRC+ while playing plus defense at 3B. Before today's game,  since his return from AAA(93PAs), he has posted a .321/.411/.449 line which is good for a 141 wRC+.

No need for heat. I've been quite vocal about Madrigal not being my favorite player but the way he is playing lately makes him a perfectly useful piece in the lineup, which is a great outcome.

Is Boxberger dead? I forgot about all about him.

He’s throwing. Sounds like he’s getting closer to returning but not ready yet.

Cubs' win probability chart during the game:

There was no point after the bottom of the first inning where it went below 75%.

Pirates 3 outs away from beating the Brewers

Giants just lost to the A’s too. Anytime anyone makes a comment about how the Cubs have only beaten up on bad teams rhe pst few weeks, this weekend is a reminder that it’s not that easy.

Brewers win, but still an overall great day.  Even with a loss tomorrow, the Cubs will be in good shape coming out of the Braves series.  And it's baseball, so they might just steal another one.
