42 of the Cubs 81 home dates are day games. Other teams have around 30 day games for their home dates.

Where it's changed is weekday day games. They use to happen regularly, especially in April and September.  This year, they only have total 6 home day games during the week (Mon-Thurs), not including Memorial Day and Labor Day.  For comparison, they have 7 road day games during the week, not including 4th of July.

The novelty of day baseball at Wrigley is now limited to Fridays and Saturdays (since almost every team has a day game on Sunday).  Pretty much no one else plays day games on Fridays, and most teams still play Saturday games at night too.

TBH, I'm completely fine with it.  I still miss the occasional daysball at Wrigley while I'm working, but I like night baseball more.

Edit: Buggy board made me post this twice

You hit submit but it still shows the screen where you were typing your message right? I've had this happen a few times recently, where instead of taking me to my newly posted message it just stays on the same screen.

Yep that's exactly what happened.

Also sometimes I post something, and then come back later to post something else and my previous message is still in the text edit box, which makes me wonder if the previous message posted.  It usually has, but then i have to refresh the page and go back to the text box and click the clear contents button so I can compose my new message.

Seems like they really are going to try to platoon Seiya.  Funny thing is, his OPS against lefties and righties is exactly the same thing year (.723)

I think it probably more that Ross want to keep Tauchman in the lineup as much as possible..

I love Nico Hoerner. He should not be getting more PAs than Happ, Belli, Dansby, Morel, Jeimer, and probably Gomes.

The starting 2B shouldn’t get more PA than the catcher? I don’t see how that would work.

were you talking about batting order? Eh, I guess it’s a little weird that candalario is so low. But I really don’t see how it’s an issue to have Hoerner up there. I’m a Nico skeptic but lineup order just doesn’t matter.

Maybe that means that those guys should be playing 2B?

Lineup construction doesn’t matter in the grand scheme. It’s not worth getting mad about daily. Ross’ batting order is definitely not the way I would do it, but again, it doesn’t really matter.

I guess this explains the last two nights.

Until the tweet loaded I thought it was going to say Nick Senzel developed an incurable case of hot dog fingers.

Reds have a lot of Pirates, Cardinals, Nationals and Tigers on their schedule as well.

Right, that part of why I was saying these head to head with them are important to win now.

The white sox also took 2 of 3 against the Braves a few weeks ago so it's not forgone the Cubs will lose that series.

Any idea what the pitching matchup will be ?

Guessing Hendricks for Game 1

Hendricks, TBD and Steele. They might just give that second start to Assad and do a bullpen day.
