Levine was talking Bellinger on the Score this AM. Says now that the Yanks are out it leaves the Cubs and Mariners interested in him. Mentioned signing Hoskins to a pillow contract then Belli shifts to 1B if PCA works out when Hoskins leaves in a year.

Assuming they can talk Bellinger down from the rumored amount he was asking, this would be amazing for solving the offensive side.  Far too many people are assuming PCA will be okay in the ML, but I still have my doubts.

Or when they posted a picture of Las Vegas pretending to be at the Winter Meetings but the sign in the background was advertising a show that ended a few years before.

I've been to the winter meetings too

He really doesn't need to hit all that much to be worth starting with that defense.

True, but offense has to come somewhere. If he is going to be in the line up he hits 9th, the catcher 8th. You need a solid 7.

Yeah we were never doing that deal. Good for the dodgers. Seems like he was going there all along and used other teams to get the best deal.

That’s insane money. So with this, Betts and Freeman they’re pretty much locked in to whatever the max luxury tax is right? Like unless they just have cheap guys all around them.

Apparently a crapload of the money is deferred long term so that the Dodgers can balance the competitive tax and add more talent around him.

My understanding was that, that's not how the salary cap works. That it was just what ever the per year average was, despite what they were actually paid in that year. Maybe I made that up, but I could swear that's what it was.
