We are now officially less than 24 hours away from actual baseball games that count so just like Pentatonix famously once sang, let’s get it on.

The guy who I think played Roger Dorn takes on Puerto Rico’s pride and joy, Marcus Stroman. Both guys are tied for the league lead in literally every statistical category including the triple crown, which just goes to show how silly it was to implement the DH in the NL.

Anywho, here’s to loss number 1 of only 70 we will see all season.  I’ll drink to that.

Question: do we want to start these threads in the Cubs forum and then move them to this forum after the game? That's what we do on the other sites to promote more in-game conversation.

I'd prefer not to but I guess I don't see a huge downside to it either.  Mostly just because its the way we've always done it.  But I don't read this forum through the individual sub-forums anyways so it makes no difference to me.

I know in the past we've had people that were banned or suspended specifically from the GT Forum due to behavior in the game threads, but they were allowed to post elsewhere.  Not sure if that matters.

That would be the most logical reason not to change but I don't think anyone currently on the boards has had that problem (at least not recently), so it doesn't make much difference to me either.

Are you ever?

A true "Derwood" would have been him jumping into this thread after several posts and saying "Hey guys I think we should start the season off right and do a Mad Man gif theme for this thread"

True Derwood would be saying I've never seen Mad Men

Spoiler

I have not ever seen Mad Men

Looks like plenty of seats available tomorrow. Used to be unfathomable to imagine Opening Day not sold out. So I thought about calling out of work and taking my sons, then looked up 3 tickets for the cheapest seats in house (404 Row 9, one of the top rows near the foul pole) and the total cost was $220. No thanks, no wonder they aren’t sold out.

My guess is that's largely the effect of dynamic pricing.

When face value was just face value, they sold out right away.  Seems less likely to happen when face value is whatever an algorithm based on timing and demand determines the price.

At least, that's how I think it happens now.  I haven't bought tickets in a while thanks to having a pretty sweet family hookup.

Got laid off from my job this past week. Have been pretty down about it, so decided I'm going to opening day. Got 1 ticket, upper deck 319R row 5, $83 off stubhub after fees.

I am also on a season ticket split with a group so will be going to Sunday's game as well.

It’s opening day and there’s a ton of tickets available at under $100. It’s not the fault of dynamic pricing. The indifference to this roster is palpable.

I'm going to be at a business event and won't be able to watch today. Can someone take notes so I can catch up later?

Thanks!

Assuming we're going to win today, I'm going to have to find a new way to put W flags in a post to track our win streaks this year.
