Considering Seiya's injury and Burnes being the opposing starter, everyone now has 24 hours to mentally prepare themselves for the strong possibility of Nick Madrigal: Opening Day Third Baseman

Could be worse. We could be watching Heyward hit GB after GB to 2B instead of Madrigal' soft liners to CF.

I always wonder how significant it for the players adjusting overnight to temperature extremes. Grant it, the weather out here in AZ has been much cooler than normal.  But to go from sunshine and upper 60s / low 80s to the crap weather in Wrigleyville….upper 40s, ugh!,

It’s opening day and there’s a ton of tickets available at under $100. It’s not the fault of dynamic pricing. The indifference to this roster is palpable.

lol did you read the post I was replying to?

if you think it has nothing to do with dynamic pricing, i'm not gonna argue with you.  just keep doing you.  plenty of bad teams sold out opening day when you could get the cheapest tickets for $40 face value or whatever the hell.

bottom line is you're going to have less games sell out basically by definition with dynamic pricing.

Yes I read that. Somebody not wanting to spend $220 on three tickets to opening day says a lot about the lack of interest in this team.

In years past it would have sold out and tickets would be going for well over $100 on the secondary market. Right now there are tons of tickets available for under $100. You can get 4 together at $59/each. Dynamic pricing makes it very annoying to plan a trip. But it's the lack of interest in the team that is making all these tickets available day of.

If Cubs fans were excited about this team, those tickets would be gone or much more expensive.

That’s very blue. Wasn’t expecting the mastro himself to start opening day

At least we were spared Madrigal.

And, yeah, I wish they'd go back to the Wrigley scoreboard lineup graphic from 2015.

Mastrobuoni is definitely going to be a guy I won't be able to remember when taking the Cubs opening day lineup Sporcle quiz in five years. If I do remember, will probably take me 3-5 tries to spell it right

Assuming we're going to win today, I'm going to have to find a new way to put W flags in a post to track our win streaks this year.

Is that something that could be added to the emojis fairly easily?  Seems like it, but what do I know?

I see that PTR is saving money by running a "Win a chance to play Right Field" fan contest

Only because it's you (because yeah, it was a funny and appropriate joke), but you're aware that Seiya Suzuki exists right?  Just making sure.

How many minutes of game time does the pitch clock need to save before Marquee realizes they don't need a 3rd person in the booth to fill every single second of airtime

At least less Taylor nonsense.
