That was actually an encouraging L. They played 2.5 quarters of really good defense. Zach is rusty as hell and seems reluctant to go to the basket. Offense went to horsefeathers when they doubled Demar to force the ball out of his hands.

Man that was probably the game right there. Tatum grabs the rebound over 3 guys, Pat bricks a 3, and the Celtics get 2 more FT.

Pat also had the ball stripped going to the hoop seconds earlier before the 3. No one can say we didn't give him a chance to do something with the game on the line.

Yeah I’ve tuned them out. The least enjoyable type of basketball team to watch is a veteran team that is not good. There’s no point in watching.

Did not understand the logic of running the same team back out for 22-23, did not work the first time. This season, no Ball, a hobbled LaVine, what did the Bulls' front office expect was going to happen?

The bench is improved with Drummond and Dragic but the team still lacks enough shooting, especially with Coby out. They can get hot for stretches but more consistency from deep is needed in today's NBA. PWill has shown flashes of what he can be but he's still more miss than hit. Lonzo is so important to this team, which sucks because he can't ever seem to stay healthy.

To give them a little credit, it didn't seem like they thought Ball would miss half the season at that point and thought LaVine's issues would be cleared up. But yeah the offseason made no sense even with JR concerned about lowering his massive profits by going into the luxury tax. The 2 biggest solvable issues the Bulls had were 3 point shooting and interior defense (IMO) and they solved neither. Don't get me wrong Dragic and Drummond when healthy have been fine but they are still 28th in the league in % of points from 3 pointers and have no plan to stop the Embiids and Giannis's of the league.

If there is one positive its that the Bulls struggles are 90% tied to offense. They are actually ranked 6th in defensive efficiency this year. Maybe that's a fluke but if its not that's huge. On offense they are something like 22nd and sliding. Given the amount of offensive talent on the team and their performance last year you would expect that to improve.

I'm not sure where you go from here though and I'm very skeptical of AKME at this point. Not that he took over a team with a lot of talent but they had one of the youngest teams in the league, owned all of their 1st round picks, had very low payroll obligations. Fast forward 3 years and we have one of the oldest teams on the league, do not own 2 of our next 3 1sts, are up against the luxury tax and our team is kind of bad. Like what are we doing here? I hate to go tank again, but with an ownership that refuses to pay the luxury tax, we don't have a lot of choices to acquire the talent needed to compete for championships.

In a city filled with shitty teams, I think the Bulls are in the worst place. Tons of money spent, as of right now they'd be out of the playoffs and they don't have a lot of draft capital. This is going to be a long rebuild process once they pull the trigger.

This is a horsefeathering trainwreck. What did we do to deserve every single team in the city sucking at the same time for an extended period?

I'm really starting to wonder about AKME. Seems like everything he's done besides getting DeRozan has been the wrong thing. He took GarPax's crummy roster and decided Zach and Coby White were the keepers and got rid of Lauri, Carter, Porter, the 1st that became Franz Wagner, and 2 more future 1sts. He signed Zach to a max contract which I was in favor of at the time but he looks like he's lost his explosiveness permanently. One of the oldest teams in the league, missing 2 future 1sts (get 1 back from Portland), on pace for 31 wins and backed up against the luxury tax line that JR wont go over.
