2022 Complain about your fantasy team that no one cares about discussion

Well that was awful. I was up 4 until about 10 minutes ago. Here is what happened:

-Opponent has Conner, Brady and Mike Williams

-Cardinals were down 3 scores with like 4 minutes left. Of course Conner on the ground gets the garbage time TD

-Bengals could have played conservative and come close to running out the clock. Instead they throw for a TD and give Brady enough time to score a garbage time TD

-Chargers up by 7 late, they get a defensive stop and Mike Williams can’t do anything. Instead they give up a late TD and then have enough time to give Mike Williams 50 yards receiving in the final minutes.

Go from up 4 to down 11. I have Barkley left, opponent has Rams defense. Not gonna win

I need 17 points from Aaron Jones tomorrow night. Stupid Patriots lost me potential points from Jacobs/Adams in OT. OF course, I could have started Rhamondre Stevenson over Jones and have a win notched already.

Jones is projected for 15.8

Well after all my bitching Barkley showed up and I’m up 10. My opponent has the Rams defense and I have no one. Defense is fairly high scoring in our league (mainly 2 points for a sack) so it’s a coin flip (Rams are projected to score 9 points). I don’t think I’ll be able to stand watching lol

Great day from my fantasy team yesterday, but the opponent's team played better. Those late catches by Mike Williams did me in. Hopkins was open time and again and McSorley was panic stricken and couldn't complete a pass to anyone. If McCoy doesn't leave with a concussion, I probably win. Also would have won if Fields reaches 100 yards rushing. He ended up with 95. That 5 point bonus along with the extra carry ties me and I had the tie breaker. Grrrr.

I did make it another week in my King of The Mountain. All will be forgiven if I can figure out a way to win that.

46% of the field had Prescott, Miles Sanders and Keenan Allen in their respective scoring categories. I had two of those guys, and that scared me a bit. Keenan Allen was actually my original pick for this week. No one had all three of Prescott, Sanders and Allen. It would have been a winner, but just barely. Every team currently below the cut line has Keenan Allen. Shockingly, McCaffrey, Henry, Dalvin Cook and Jonathan Taylor all showed up on a roster this week. Not sure how you haven't used those guys by now. The guy who had Taylor is watching the rest of this event from his tv set. One guy has Aaron Rodgers (as the only player left to play this week) and he's going to have to match Dak Prescott's numbers to avoid the cut.

9 people left for the Christmas weekend. Family gathering is all day Christmas Eve. I'll have to record the Bears game, but I'd really like to find a way to watch all of my rostered players on another day if at all possible. I won't risk losing for the sake of watching, however. The final weeks will be 9 teams, 6 teams, 4 teams, 3 teams, 2 teams. The rules say that this competition will run until the NFC and AFC Championships games or until it's down to just two teams. I show this will end in the Divisional round. Tomorrow I get to work on creating my lineup.

Those drove me nuts as I alluded to above. Williams did almost nothing all game, and the only outcome he could do damage is if the Chargers allowed a TD, the Titans didn't go for 2, and they had enough time for a last drive or got the ball in OT. Of course the Titans scored, kicked the XP and left enough time for Herbert to throw 2 long passes to him. I'd have roughly a 90% chance of winning had the Chargers D stopped them rather than the 57% chance I have now.

Gonna win 1 playoff matchup, up 30 and have Lazard tonight and opponent has Watson. So barring some insane thing happening there that’s safe. Probably will lose another one, up 15 with nobody left and opponent has Watson and GB defense. Played Herbert over Mahomes in that one this week, horsefeathering idiot. Like a 25 point difference, should’ve played Mahomes.

OK this is a pretty good bad beat.....

I was up 2.38 points entering the 4th quarter playing the Rams D. In the first 4 minutes of the quarter Rodgers was sacked (2 points) and Aaron Jones fumbled (2 points). A Packers TD would have taken 2 points off their score to give me a 0.38 point win.

Rodgers leads a 7 minute drive to get the ball down to the 4 yard line. 4th and 2 with 2 minutes left, he hands off to Aaron Jones, who gets the 1st and brings it down to the 1 yard line. Then Rodgers takes 3 knees and my season is over. 1 horsefeathering yard short. ONE YARD.

I didn't play Rhamondre Stevenson, because I was afraid of him sitting out with all of my other rb playing in early games. I lost by 3, would have won by 17 if I had played him. I had by far the most points this season, but fell all the way to 5th in the last week due to losing that game by less than one point. I would have beaten the 8 seed by 40 points, even without Rhamondre.

I would just like to say two things.

1. I love every bad beat story for pure entertainment purposes. They're all amazing and yet unique in their own way in how painful they are.

2. I love every bad beat story because it continues to provide justification for me never doing fantasy football. If something like that happened to me it would piss me off so much and, knowing myself, a bad beat loss would bother me more than a bad beat win would give me joy.

Honestly point 2 is weighing on me right now. I’ve spent way too much time trying to be a fantasy guru the last few years. I won one championship and the rest I’ve lost to a lower seeded team at some point in the playoffs. This particular loss had me moping around the rest of the night with a dark cloud over me. Shouldn’t care this much but I did.

My bench Defense puts me over the top, too. I've won it all 3 times since 2013 and lost the championship game by 4 points another time, so I guess it's someone else's turn.

King Of The Mountain posted the results late this morning, so I'm not going to have much time today to do my normal research. I always like to plug the holes in my lineup right away just to be safe. And today, I put Tom Brady at AZ, James Connor at home vs. TB and Chris Godwin at AZ. I'm a little nervous about the weather this coming weekend, and that one single game avoids all weather issues. And it's the Sunday night game, which means I'll be able to watch it live.

Well I would've smoked the guy I was set to play in the playoffs this week had the Patriots completed that final sack, and one of my friends who did make the playoffs won his matchup (which would have been different if I had also made it) on a late surge from Aaron Jones. The alternate universe where that sack is completed is so much different than this one.

Hurts and Taylor hurt the last week of my regular season (1st place team)

:| :| :|

Am I going to have to trust... Gulp... A waiver wire Rodgers to help save my season?!

Either way I'm hammering the hedge bets hard this week. Taking all the under yards on my guys and over yards and anytime TDs on my opponent.

I agree that the stories are very entertaining because we've all been there. The couple I just read are very relatable.

I started Aaron Jones over Rhamondre Stevenson as well. Rhamondre put up 24.8 which would have put me in the clubhouse Sunday with a W. I need Jones to put up 17 points, which he hit point 18.something after his receiving TD in the 3rd quarter. I said, well as long as he doesn't fumble and get injured on his very next carry, I'm good. He fumbled. But luckily for me, he added a few yards before hand (including before he fumbled) to mitigate that -2. Also probably good that AJ Dillon got hurt because Jones had to get all the carries late and if Dillon was in there, who's to say that wouldn't have been Jones' only carry in the 4th. I won by 4.

The cherry on the cake is when your team performs when they've already eliminated. I cant wait for my team to have 2 big weeks the next 2 weekends, like they have virtually every other week for the past 2 months except this last one.

I did fantasy baseball for a few years. My worst one was 2017. Almost a month in, Anthony Rendon had a .566 OPS. On Sunday April 30, he went 6-6, 3 HR, 1 2B, 10 RBI, 5 runs scored. He raised his own OPS 200 points that day. Had he gone 6-6 with 4 double, 2 runs scored and like 5 RBI, I would have won 3 more categories.

My best bad beat that went my way was the 2015 season. Sunday Night Baseball was Cubs-Pirates and Jake was in the middle of his run. Fantasy playoff semifinals. All I had left was Gregory Polanco and the only thing I could get that would matter was a SB. Jake takes a no hitter into the 7th. Polanco singles and I’m just praying he tries to steal. He does and is safe and that steal gave me the category and the win that week. If he doesn’t steal or is thrown out, I lose.

I should have known better than to have 2 Raiders on my team when it matters. Down 10 with Jacobs and Adams going. Opponent only projected to get about 24 more points. My Raiders duo average 41 points between them this season. Combine for 9.5 points. I'm losing by less than a 1/2 point with Aaron Jones and Tyler Higbee left to go for me vs Mike Evans and Zach Moss (Colts 1A RB with Jonathan Taylor out).

Went from being projected to win comfortably by 28 points to projected to lose by 0.28. Can never make this horsefeathering easy.
