So, I was offered a pretty interesting trade and need some advice.

I'm a red hot 5-5 and was offered a trade by one of the other handful of teams separated by 0 or 1 games for 2nd place.

I give up: Dameon Pierce and Elijah Mitchell

I get: Brian Robinson Jr and Cooper Kupp

I'm leaning toward no, because Robinson is a borderline starting option. Pierce has been in my flex most of the season. Mitchell coming back from injury and has McCaffery in the SF backfield with him, but Robinson has Gibson. So, that mostly seems like a wash.

But the key is Pierce for Kupp. Kupp is out at least 4 weeks. That would put him back for the playoffs and give me an elite WR. But can I lose the 15-16 ppg from Pierce and even make it? Thoughts?

Are there any keeper considerations?

If the Rams start fading out of the playoff race there's no guarantee Kupp comes back this season. That alone would scare me off this one.

Yep, definite risk.

I think it might be different if he was a shoe in for the playoffs and was just going for high variance playoff results. But to use an analogy, this is like trying to save your closer for extra innings in a tie game only to watch your backup blow the lead and never get to extras. Gotta make the playoffs first.

I just offered a trade to the last place team and to my surprise he accepted it. I trade: Miles Sanders, Brandon Cooks, 1st round pick next year. I get: Kamara, Hopkins and a 3rd next year. May be vetoed but my league has been pretty kind towards tanking trades in the past. If it goes through my roster:

QB (start 2): Fields, Kyler

RB (3): Barkley, Kamara, Patterson, Foreman, Pacheco

WR (4): Jefferson, Adams, AJ Brown, Hopkins, Garrett Wilson

TE (1): Friermuth

K: Butker

DEF: Cowboys

This is inspring me to feel out for a Kupp trade in my league. The guy who has him has a stacked team, but due to injury (Jamar Chase and now Kupp) and bad matchup is 5-5 and probably needs help getting to the playoffs. Kupp can't be kept anymore in this league next year and I can throw him some fliers to help his playoff run and maybe give me a playoff boost.

Do you trust Kupp will be back for the fantasy playoffs? I haven't read too closely into it because I don't own him but it was a high ankle sprain right?

I really don't know, but if the guy bites on Curtis Samuel, he's my 4th WR and 3rd Flex at best. Yet I can sell him as a top 20 (non PPR) WR. Fingers crossed he bites. Worth the gamble for my team.

So I jumped into this "King Of The Mountain" pool in RTSports. It's a $15 buy in and you get two teams. Over 4000 teams competing for one prize payout, which is $25K. I lost one team in week 4 and my other team is still in going into next week. We are down to 28 people left. Each week, the bottom third in points scored gets the boot. You get one QB, one RB and one WR/TE to score fantasy points based on carries/catches/passes, yardage and TD's. You cannot use the same player twice during the season. It's going to get real tough for the remaining weeks. Especially in the playoffs, where you have to scrape the bottom barrel for anyone to get you some points because you probably already used most of those guys during the regular season.

Not a complaint mind you. I just thought it was cool to make it to the top 28 and needed somewhere to brag about winning nothing so far. LOL.

What do you mean by "you get 2 teams"? Do you get to pick 2 teams and get their QB, RB, WR/TE? Or do you pick 2 sets of QBs, RBs, WR/TEs for around the league?

$15 buys you two entries into the competition. Each team you choose one QB, RB, WR/TE to fill your roster for the week. My other team got knocked out in week 3 with subpar performances from Kirk Cousins against Detroit and Davante Adams vs. Tennessee. The killer was David Montgomery leaving with an injury vs. Houston and their league worst rush defense at the time.

My team that is still in is currently sitting with Trevor Lawrence, Aaron Jones and Amon Ra for the upcoming week. I'm probably going to go with Aaron Rodgers if he plays this week, though. Which will change my RB since I don't want two from the same team. I've also toyed with going with Watson this week, but I think I'd rather see him play a game before risking my team. So, I'm looking at Lawrence, Jones and St. Brown or Rodgers, Dameon Pierce and Amari Cooper or a mix and match of those depending on how I feel on game day. The RB and WR position is getting thin. I still have plenty of QB's to choose from, but the elite guys are all used up.

Interesting set up. So Week 13: 28 teams, week 14: 19, week 15: 13, week 16: 9, week 17: 6, week 18: 4 > then what?

I also wouldn’t mind starting Rodgers and Jones with how much Rodgers throws to him (53 targets on the year already) and playing the Bears, assuming it’s 0.5 or 1 ppr. That combo should be pretty safe to keep you out of the bottom third.

My theme this year has been to put many of the available players against the Bears D. After week 18, we go into playoffs. Most of the remaining teams will likely not have a playoff QB unless it's someone's backup because the starter is hurt. Or there may be some team that gets in with a crappy/risky QB like Danny Dimes. In fact, I might try to save a guy like that for the playoffs if I'm lucky enough to make it that far. Once the Sunday games start, you can see everyone's line up and it shows you what percentage of a particular guy is being used for the week. Now that it's down to 28 people, the percentage thing isn't as meaningful. It's pretty hard to try to make it through this without using a big name QB each week. Especially now that the top RB and WR's have been used up.

Side note. I was pretty excited about my progress until I did the math you did above and learned that this contest will be going into the playoffs. That's a lot of weeks remaining to stay in the top 2/3 each week.

I made it another week. It's down to 19 people. I was the only one who went with Aaron Rodgers and Dameon Pierce. Neither was very good this week, but Amon Ra St Brown killed it for me. Of the 9 people who lost this week, Trevor Lawrence and Aaron Jones were the most popular guys they used. Every person that got knocked out this week either had Lawrence or Herbert as their QB. Trevor and Herbert both did better than Rodgers, but those guys got nothing to speak of from their receiver spot (Cooper/Kirk/Kelce).

Now to figure out how to get through week 14 with 6 teams on a bye week. Yikes.

So pissed about my work (money) league. My team is terrible, but Justin Fields has single-handedly put me in contention for a playoff spot. This week 6-6, tied for the last playoff spot. A win and needed to outscore the 6th place team by 20 points to get into the last spot (there is next week as well). Playing another 6-6 that I have outscored this year. So, pretty huge game.

This MF'er has been waiting all year to start Deshaun Watson, and rightfully only got 5.6 points out of that POS. But he also has the Browns D and ST, who scored THREE horsefeathering TOUCHDOWNS! 31 points! He also picked up the Steelers backup kicker due to injury and he put up 16 points.

So, I go into the night game needing a HUGE game from the Cowboys defense. 21 points. I know I needed either a bunch of sacks, a few turnovers, and 1, if not 2 scores. 3 sacks, 5 turnovers, 1 score. Instead of 21 points, they fall just short and put up 20. I lose what is essentially and elimination game by 0.6 points.

OOF. I'm sorry to hear that. Not sure if you watched that Cowboys game, but they had a scoop and score called back late in the 4th because the person who recovered the fumble was just barely touched by a Colt as he was recovering. I have the Cowboys defense so I was annoyed though I didn't need the score to win.

Ouch. I didn't watch the game after the Colts went up and down the field the first couple drives. I figured I'd get too pissed.

Thought I was going Dak Prescott against the lowly Texans this week, but I'm liking this lineup for week 14 King Of The Hill...

Kirk Cousins vs. crappy Detroit pass defense

Joe Mixon (fresh legs after missing two games with a concussion vs. Cleveland's woeful defense (surrendering 3rd most fantasy points per game)

DK Metcalf vs. Carolina (averaging giving up 34 fantasy points per game to opposing receivers.

I'm one of 19 remaining teams in a survivor league that started with over 2000 participants and over 4000 teams. Starting to wish they paid out to 4-8 places. Oh well, go big or go home!

Posted

I was kind of expecting Mixon to have a little lighter load this week.

I started 5-2 and now sit 6-7 facing a 7-6 team where winner takes last playoff spot. Due to byes, have to find 2 WRs out of Gabe Davis, Treylon Burks, Tyler Boyd, and DJ Chark

I'm officially eliminated on one league and locked up the number 1 seed in another league. So I'm mostly hanging around the next couple weeks. May do a little more digging at possible additions for week 16/17 matchups for my one seed, but even that doesn't really matter except DST which I already have looked at, and TE, which is just a dumpster fire no matter what. My RB/WR aren't really benchable for matchup reasons, so it would only come up do to injury. Picked up White as my emergency QB in case Hurts were to get hurt, as White has decent playoff week matchups...

So if anyone has a good streaming TE for week 16/17 matchups, drop a recommendation.

If you want to snag a TE and hope they have a role when week 16 and 17 comes around, I think Trey McBride makes sense. He's getting all the snaps at TE, and Kyler has tended to favor targetting TEs. He just hasn't been getting the targets thus far since Ertz went down. I think it makes more sense holding a guy like him (or Okonkwo, etc) than White, whom you could probably grab anyways if Hurtz gets hurt.
