Tepera is toast.

Is it a safe assumption he was using some tiky tak?

Probably just the innings. He's got 38 and we're not even halfway through the season.

Are you trying to tell me it's a bad idea to pitch the same guys in the 7th and 8th innings every game?

I mean he had a 21 inning or something scoreless streak and then immediately after the ban starts he has given up 7 ER in 3 IP. Could be overuse too but that’s quite the coincidence.

I mean all that pub about the Cubs magical pitch lab that focused on identifying guys with spin rate managed to turn scrap heap guys into elite bullpen arms.

Nance is suspicious too - 5.2 IP, 6 ER since the ban. Others have held up well so maybe it is just the fact that pitchers occasionally give up runs and struggle

brewers just kind of own the cubs organizationally this year. their good pitchers have the book on the cubs’ hitters, they execute and the cubs can’t/won’t adjust. meanwhile the same brewers hitters just keep killing the cubs.

Last Monday the Cubs completed a 6 game stretch where they scored 10 total runs. Tonight the Brewers scored 10 runs in an inning against the Cubs.

Ahead 1-2, walks batter

Ahead 1-2, walks batter

Ahead 1-2, double to dead center

Wonderful.

This basically summed it up for me but don't forget the 8 pickoff throws while Hiura, the 500 OPS monster, was at the plate. Just horsefeathering focus on the [expletive] hitter, not Jace horsefeathering Peterson.

The thing is, there were probably 2-3 of those throws that could have picked the runner off if Tepera had even a mediocre move to first.

Jed - if there ever was a sign, the performance tonight is screaming at you to sell. Start dismantling.

Kimbral has been fun to watch but he should bring back a sweet return
